These patches have been terrible

Ever since the Sigma, Orisa, and Brig nerfs, I haven’t been enjoying the game as of late. These new nerfs are not good either with the Symettra and MCcree nerfs. I’m a huge fan of this game and I want to support it. I have a question? Does anyone feel the same way that I do? Maybe I’m burning out, or these patches destroyed most of my mains. I’m sorry guys for being negative, but this game has been very frustrating to play. Again I want the best for this game, developers, and community. I personally want to make the game better so that OW2 could be successful.

I’ve been pretty thrilled with the patches recently. They’re not perfect by any means, but are huge steps in the right direction.

Well I’m glad you’re having fun

Not to sound overly rude, but can you give a more detailed reasoning other than “I don’t like the balance patches”?

I really enjoyed the hog meta for the first week or so before the meta solidified, it was a nice break from hitting barriers, but definitely would get too chaotic in some games.

Hopefully the new patch will let shields come back in a reasonable extent and slow the game down just a tad. Hog’s shield break dps actually went down slightly, so with other sources of damage also going down then shields may be worth using again. We’ll have to see but we may actually be on the verge of having main and off tanks being fairly competitive among each other.

Tbh, I understood the double sheild hate, but I didn’t want Orisa and Sigma to take a backseat while Hog and Zarya owns every game. Glad you understand

It sounds like it’s time to branch out, broaden your horizons or stick to certain modes until more changes come. This is an age-old question I think that will be continued to be asked under different circumstances in the future. Everyone’s time comes, just don’t allow yourself to be poisoned by your own perception of OW, for others will certainly feel a different way.

I think select groups of players are effected like this in various ways for various reasons over various courses of time but they often blend their voices together, making for a much dire seeming community outlook that in turn infects other players into changing their outlook as well by prefacing OW as going downhill without taking those finer details into consideration.

I would always say to assume it is burnout, even if it isn’t… you will use this to find new things to do and play and enjoy in OW or another game for the time being.

Do all you can to stop yourself from saying “Is this bad for the game? Is this healthy for the game” because these are more or less subjective ideas. Most people can’t even agree on what kind of game OW is… I myself believe it is a game made to cater to many, and that’s where a big problem both rests but can be easily accepted as well. It’s likely also why it did not make it into the top list of “competitive” e sport games.

Blizzard still hasn’t figured out a decent way to balance Shields and DPS without giving one too much power in the meta, which is what leads into huge swings in the meta with any patch nerfing or buffing on or the other. I wrote a suggestion on how to fix this.

as much as people hated Brig, she was an important option for support players to switch to when dive heroes are OP, right now support feeling pretty helpless when their team has a Genji, doom or tracer carry. i have to just hope my dps is better… feels bad.

You’re right, I should have given more details. I don’t like the Massive Orisa shield nerf or her halt ability( heard it’s better now). Brig heath reduced. Sigma sheild heath reduced. MCcree reduced rate of fire. Finally, Symmetra nerfs are terrible. Sorry I wasn’t more detailed

For Orisa at least I do think the halt changes will be good in the long run, having less teamwork dependency means they can buff her core kit more. Like they couldn’t give her a stronger gun or whatever because she was already heavily used for Halt setups in high ranks, basically meaning she had to be weak because other heroes were strong when they interacted with her.

I have been play more mutiplayer games recently. Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Street Fighter 5, Dragon Ball Fighterz, and Guilty Gear. Overwatch is kinda addictive. I love the character designs, lore, and gameplay. The community also plays a part as well

I like the game more now than before these changes. It still has a lot of adjustments but it’s going in the right direction.

I’ve been playing ESO, Star Citizen and RD2 myself. I did love DBF though! I often look at it and think of going back, but I have an affair with Budokai Tenkaichi 3… fighterz doesn’t really fully do it for me.
