I see lots of people complaining about 6v6. Why? Its a separate mode. Its a test bed. Devs are obviously on your 5v5 side. The cards are stacked against the 6v6 players yet so many posts complaining about 6v6 and its not even a replacement for 5v5. Its a test bed to see if its possible and wanted by the overall player base. Whats wrong with having a separate mode for the people that want it? Why complain when you dont complain about the rest of the arcade modes? Millions of people have quit overwatch. Many of them believe 6v6 was superior. Why not bring them back to the game? Do you hate 6v6 players that much that you dont want them to even have a sub-par mode of the game they used to like?
Are we on the same platform here?
Still not a guarantee that 6v6 will even comeback itās going threw a test run or two
I see lots of people complaining to bring 6v6 back, and debates over 6v6 vs 5v5 being better.
Are you saying the forums dont want 6v6 to come back in any capacity? ⦠where?
Your post feels like gaslighting, Iād say the general discussion subforum has more frequent posters in favour of 6v6 than 5v5. Seems like you are the one attempting to silence those in favour of 5v5, who are already a minority in this section.
Discourse is fine, itās healthy. People can complain about 6v6, just as Iām sure you have about 5v5.
Where?
Maybe 3 at best.
Obviously i disagree and think the general discussions are more against 6v6. I in no way think 5v5 is in the minority. Guess both may have a slight bias.
You made me review my post and yes, i guess i am trying to shut down it down. Why not? I dont have a 6v6 mode and would like to have one. I agree discorse is healthy. If it wasnt for discorse i wouldnt be getting 6v6 tested. People are putting down on a seperate mode that has nothing to do with thier prefered 5v5 mode. Can they complain? Yes. Can i complain about them complaining? Yes.
Too bad for you. If people dislike 6v6 then they will say so. Not everyone who disagrees with you needs silencing.
I think part of it is panic, since all 5v5ers liked to do was say āits never gonna happen get over itā when now its suddenly very real.
But for the most part all I see is 5v5ers scared its gonna get deleted, even though I think the newest prevailing feelings of 6v6ers is a co-existence.
Outside of that I feel reactions are very positive so long as we ignore Garrett who is a turbo delusional forum terrorist I think literally no one should take seriously. Even NeonWright has more redeeming qualities, and all that guy does is make a living off of being a troll.
Did you inadvertently time warp to the past from an era where this is a thing?
The forums have always been the complaining hot spot. If people are unhappy about something coming to the game they always go to the forums and complain about it. Thereās less people that go to the forums to express joy.
If you look at overwatch YouTube videos, the comments are seriously like 95% pro 6v6. Stylosas video about tanks getting headshot reduction is 100% bring back 6v6 comments. Iām not even kidding I scrolled through hundreds of comments and every single one was pro 6v6. Stylosa is the most popular overwatch content creator too so I think that really shows how most the community does want 6v6 back. A lot of people have just left the game and left forums like this or reddit.
Because Iād rather we get more heroes more maps more modes and more events then have them spend a year making 6v6 for a month.
Thats interesting. I watched a few youtube video of flats and stylosa but never see them say they really supported one way or another. Thought only samito supported. I see his name drug through the dirt in these forums never anyone else. But i dont watch much ow on youtube as a way to voice my discorse with 5v5 and ow2 as a whole. Ow1 i played almost daily. Even through the drought. I login ow2 play a game get pissed and quit. I want to like it. I cant.
likely bot accounts deployed by an ignoramus attempting to control the narrative. bc ever since 5 v 5 implemented, viewership and player logins plummeted.
If players wanted 6v6 bad enough, there would be a discord community setting up matches in the custom games workshop to play itā¦
Itās important to us! No one wants to talk about the feet of some heroes so this is what we talk about.
Eh. It is still never going to happen. This hopeful optimism is cute and everything; however, nothing will come of it for better or worse.
No idea why. Blizzard listens to the squeaky wheel so often that people actually ignore the precedent. Itās silly.
You never know. People are strange.
The literal only reason ānothing will come of itā is if Blizzard doesnt actually put in the effort to take the testing seriously, so its all about the reason you think Blizzard is doing this in the first place.
Do you seriously think Blizzard would put in enough effort to make 6v6 playable enough for heavy public testing, put out at minimum 2 different 2+ week tests for it, just to act like they tried and say āwell shucks sorry 6v6ers youre doneā? Do you think that will solve something and 6v6ers will magically be happy if they finally get given a shot but it obviously gets intentionally sabotaged?
I think Blizzard is quite serious with this, and I fail to see a reason why 6v6 wont just be a permanent re-addition to the game. Do I think theyāll give it as much attention as 5v5? Probably not, it really all depends on community engagement. My personal thoughts is probably going to be a short period of intense balance changes to react to outliers after release, followed by an immense slow down in resources given to 6v6 to collect data, and a determination of how seriously to take 6v6 management once theyve gotten the info of how large the 6v6 community really is. Should it be small? Life support. Should it be large? Who knows.
I feel like anyone who says nothing will come of this is just repeating the exact same thing that they were LITERALLY just wrong about.
People thought nothing was gonna come of the Dev update and it was just gonna āno 6v6 sorryā but I knew that wasnt it solely because they serve to gain NOTHING by doing that.
This is quite literally Blizzards big money way of gaining some positive publicity, giving back the players something they dearly want. Itll be the first serious good publicity Blizzard will have gotten in ages if 6v6 returns.
Not to mention all of this work costs time, money, and resources that are pulled away from 5v5. Blizzard is the one company I can trust when it comes to being so hyper greedy as to not even attempt trying to give players something unless they seriously think it could have a positive outcome for them.
I, personally, believe the best chance 6v6 has is a side mode that inevitably gets forgotten. And even if I am somehow wrong and they treat both formats equally, it would still damage the game by splitting the playerbase. There is no winning here.
I more or less agree. Thatās why I believe it is a waste of time. It just makes sense to focus on one. Trying to appeal to everyone is going to spread themselves thin even if they have the best of intentions.
You are just being overly literal. I do not mean that literally nothing will come of it. I mean it is not going to be what people are anticipating and therefore this time would be better spent on delivering core content over humoring a gimmick.
Until the cracks form.
Exactly. But then again, I guess that is what Overwatch has always been. Scrapped content that we eat up.
I am absolutely fine with it being the background mode. Im fine if the only significant changes it sees are one a season so Blizzard doesnt have to waste time with smaller patches and mid seasons.
I am under no misconception, nor i think are many people, that 6v6 is going to get so big to Blizzard that theyāll even start a 6v6 pro league.
So long as 6v6 is back, HP and hitboxes are reverted, and role passives are gone, I am ecstatic and call it 100% a win. The issue of queue times is SO much a non-issue so long as it becomes either open queue or the role limit mode GreyFalcon proposed.
Im sure many 6v6ers want bragging rights that 6v6 is the superior mode, but just as many will be satisfied with just having a classic Overwatch experience back.
