in the technical support part of the forums, players are getting bans after a software called HyperX NGENUITY updated today
if you use that software i’d recommend uninstalling it until the issue gets resolved, or you might get hit with a ban too

it makes me wonder if in previous years if people were banned for innocuous software. people use all kinds of software/hardware and not for cheating. mainly mouse/keyboard/headset or even making your desktop prettier. wonder if that injects code into overwatch or something… im not a tech expert so

thats a possibility. i dont envy the dev team when it comes to this stuff, its a hard job trying to decide whats okay and whats not, and some programs might push an update or reuse existing signed code that already oversteps what the dev team is willing to allow to ensure a fair playing field. this software in question has the ability to set binding and macros; and macros while insanely useful violate blizzards ‘1 click = 1 action’ rule
like, i’d LOVE to run auto hot key on my gaming PC, not even for the game, just for automating desktop stuff and making my life easier, but i wont run anything like that on my gaming PC while i want to be an overwatch player, its not worth the risk
We have created a Discord to gather all the player who got banned because the HyperX Ngenuity 5.19.0.0 update. Please contact me on Discord (alekhine18) so I can add anyone who got the problem.
We started the Discord yesterday night, and we now have around 80/90 players looking for a solution. We have dozens of reports of players getting banned with only one thing in common: having installed (automatically via Microsoft Store) the 5.19.0.0 update.

dont even know what hyperx is 
they make RGB keyboards, mice, headsets, computer memory, ect and the software allows them to be customized, including button inputs, macros (1 click = multiple actions) and button rejections (disable alt+f4 , ect)
an update to the hyperx software yesterday added more functionality, and triggered the anticheat to ban
if there was one innocuous software program that i could run that wouldnt give me an advantage in overwatch it would be making all the characters/heroes nude. that kind of program would likely be client side meaning no other player could see your modified game. of course that would get me banned but it wouldnt give me a competitive advantage 
of course in no way would i risk my account for that kind of program hehehehe

i hear ya, i’d love to mod my client to have a dark mode in menus. but i just gotta hope they add it to the game eventually ;/
i wouldnt mind deleting some voicelines from my client either LOL but whatever
