There is no forced 50/50

But the variance in difficulty from match to match is absolute BS. One game is extremely easy, the entire team feels it and is rolling over the others who can’t do anything about it. The next game? It’s as if you’re playing in 1-2 ranks higher, it makes absolutely no sense considering the rank divisions are the same.

So my experience goes: 1 win, 1 loss, 1 win, 1 loss, and so on.

Sure it’s possible to break the cycle, but why do the games feel like this in the first place?

Games that I win often feel undeserved because they’re too easy. I’d prefer if the difficulty was smoothed out so that you don’t feel bad about stomping on a hopeless team and don’t get an insane bump in difficulty the next match.

I would kill for that 1 win 1 loss experience of yours. Thats not what Ive been getting at all lately. I mean, actually never, but lately its been so bad that Ive been traumatized over losing soo many games no matter what I do, that ive been taking shelter in MR and I havent played OW2 in yet another week now. I missed the bulk of the 6v6 test if its over. Last time I played I went like 9-27 or something, I made a thread about it, it was sad.

Earlier I watched a Frogger video and it made me want to launch OW2, but no, im still afraid of being treated like a jobber by the crap matchmaking.

That is the way they force 50/50…

I don’t think they force it, I think the algorithm just needs to smooth out the MMR gain unless you’re on a massive win streak because you’re smurfing

Ok, let me tell you funny story.

After losing 7 in a row I went out, spent time with the family, and once my kid got in bed I decided to try again.

3 more losses. Overall 10 straight losses. after that, 3 clear wins.

Went to game reports, and out of the last few days, this was the overall count:

20 losses / 21 wins.

Are you sure the game is not rigged to make you go 50-50?

Dude, I got 10 losses in a row. I think I had never seen that before in my case.

And how would the game know if you’re playing drunk or having the game of your life.

I have thousands more wins than losses. Did blizzard forget about me?

I’m not sure what your argument is? Why does it need to know this?

I think their point is the matchmaker doesn’t know if you are going to play well or not.

Um? That’s the 50/50 influence? Finally, you discovered it!

Whoops. I mean, yeah, the easy game is just my skill and the hard game is just because I am messing up. Totally.

Exactly because it prioritizes forcing winrate over fair matches. That is why.

Maybe they did forget about you! or maybe you are so good that you can overcompensate for the team of dummies they give you.

Rip, guess I’m immune :frowning:

cause even if a match is perfectly even mmr-wise, theres a TON of factors that can still make a matchup a completely one sided affair

people falsely correlate bad matches with bad matchmaking

and while it absolutely plays a part, the matchmaker is only one of MANY factors that affect the outcome/experience (and just about all of them are not things that a matchmaker can account for)

Indeed, it has no way of knowing. How can it know if a game will be a stomp or not. All it knows is there’s a statistically roughly 50/50 chance either team will win

Thrower throws 102 games still 48% winrate, only in riggedwatch 2.

Was about to ask how you could possibly know they’re throwing…

then i saw the 5% accuracy.

We can be kind and say they’re playing overwatch with a racing wheel. Accelerator/brake for strafing.

You aren’t “forced” to go 50/50. The matchmaker does its best to give both teams an even chance of winning. It puts you into a situation where it thinks a win or loss are equally likely for you.

It’s your job to prove it wrong. That’s how you rank up (or down).

Did you actually believe that for a second when you wrote it?
OW is notorious for its stomps. There is no universe where this is considered “even chance of winning”.

34 damage per 10 min average is… dude thats finely aged oak barrel throwing that somehow doesn’t get banned yet still nets near 50% wins.

I don’t know but honestly whats on the other team that somehow can lose an effective 5v4?
