There IS a low priority queue

Take this with a grain of salt, but someone last game said they used to work at Blizzard and said that every time you get reported, it “marks” your profile and puts you with other players who get reported.

Toxicity begets toxicity.

If so then thats a bad system as a lot of times players report just because they are toxic. was on my gold account the other day playing widow. because I picked widow I was instantly hated on. Despite me getting 2-4 picks each fight winning the first point for us and winning us two ticks the second point ending with gold elims and silver damage (we had a doomfist I wasnt out damaging that xD ) But all that aside when they didnt win (cause they refused to group up…) they blamed me and reported me despite the fact that I was practially carrying them. Thus making that system a bad system. I didnt care as its my gold account not my masters account. (before anyone says smurf… I had my gold account first and just haven’t felt like grinding it up since I grinded my second account up there. Not a smurf, just a victim of the bad SR ranking system. If it was good it would be able to tell I’m not a gold tier player and wouldnt put me in the correct bracket.) But the point im making is. people falsely report all the time. so if thats the method they use they need to remove it as its not a good or accurate system.

sometimes the person reporting (in fact a lot of time the person reporting) is the toxic one.

And my uncle works at Nintendo and told me that a secret character is in the new Smash Brothers: Mega Rayquaza. It’s a hidden character that no one else knows about so keep it hush hush.

Do you see how easy it is to lie?

This is my widow 1 trick account and it’s pretty usual to see 4 minute queue times on it.

Being a one trick account I assume I get a large number of reports.

On my other accounts (similar SR) I get around 30 second queue times. Unless I avoid someone - in which case my queue times start to climb.

So to clarify I don’t think it’s reports that matter it’s avoids and it doesn’t matter which way you avoid them or they avoid you either way your queue times appear to increase.

As someone who gets reported for “being toxic” when no legitimate toxicity actually happens, I can tell you that even though I get report by people, I still get groups that have great people in it and sometimes no toxic people.

For example: I get reported for being toxic, after telling a Rein to move forward the 30 extra feet to the Payload during an overtime when we are defending is NOT toxicity. The part where they respond and abruptly scream through VC and tell me “F U!”, IS toxicity.

As much as it PAINS SOMEONE to have to be told how to play the hero correctly during any given situation, it is NOT toxicity for me to do something that will benefit our team and help us win. The person who getting angry and mouthing off over VC saying “F U” is the one who is toxic.

If you are explaining that what they are doing is incorrect and is going to make us lose, that is NOT toxicity.

Then, when we swap sides, that Rein switches off to DPS and doesn’t say anything and leaves VC because they are now angry for being told what to do or how to do something, and then they start running their mouth in the chat box telling me NOT to play my hero that IS toxicity. Well…it is not just his SR on the line here.

If you cant take some constructive criticism in the moment it is needed about your game sense (regardless if that’s in game, or on the forum) then you need to reconsider playing that role in Competitive or ever playing Competitive at all no matter how good you are or how good you think you are.

And I know for a fact that SOMEONE is going to take that very last line completely out of context. So be prepared.

Is there something about “take this with a grain of salt” that doesn’t imply that I’m well aware, and disclosed, that it could be total BS?

I tend to not even mention utter hearsay. I would have never even made a post on it as Blizzard has said the opposite is the case.

Then maybe you should not post something on the Competitive forum unless you wan’t feedback.

Or put a disclaimer in the title not “There IS” y’know? Especially when Blizzard has said it’s against creating such a system before. Blizzard wants bad players gone not playing together.

And that’s considered a troll thread regardless of how it is worded and deserves a report.

He has posted an irrelevant thread that by his admission contributes nothing to a Competitive discussion.

And realistically speaking, a low priority queue would actually help the game by separating those people who are habitually toxic players and saboteurs and allow players who don’t to play in peace.

Blizzard says all kinds of crap that isn’t real.

“There will NEVER be a deathmatch mode” … deathmatch, comp deathmatch, comp team deathmatch and more result.
“We are against heros that one shot” … Doomfist and Brig released, Widow/Hanzo buffed.

Jeff even said TDM was due to player demand and he said it wouldn’t be balanced in Overwatch. They acquiesced though. And it’s an imbalanced mess.

You know what most well-adjusted adults do when they read something online that they don’t agree with? They don’t even click it, much less start an argument with a complete stranger.

I made a disclaimer in my post. You aren’t the forum police, move on if you don’t like it.

All I’m saying is that someone said there was a low priority queue and Blizzard have made claims that didn’t end up being true in the past. You don’t want to believe the guy I heard, well I don’t want to believe Blizzard. Neither of us is “right”.

Community" We want Deathmatch!!"
Blizzard: “No. Never gonna happen.”

Community: “OMG Blizzard doesn’t listen to it’s community!!!”

Blizzard says those things so people stop asking.

Take anything they say with a grain of salt…

Well, anyone who would have known those facts would have to have been on the developer or design team to know if there truly was a low priority queue.

Even if he was employed at Blizzard in some way, the lower end jobs like event coordinators, event staff etc don’t have access to that kind of info anyway. And since devs and design team members aren’t exactly dropping like flys, that really should have been a big red flag/clue that the info was not legitimate.

Telling people to take something with “A grain of salt” is not exactly a disclaimer either. It just means that the source you recieved the information from is likely very unreliable.

We certainly really could have avoided this discussion if you had simply said something like this without the “disclaimer”.

"Some guy in one of my groups today told me that he used to work at Blizzard and he said that there was a low priority queue for leavers throwers etc. Anyone else know if that’s true?

Edit: And no. Not all well adjusted adults “don’t click” stuff. Because many well adjusted adults have a healthy level of skepticism and would like to hope that what they read has some validity. Reading it and seeing no source links to documents or web pages with evidence to back up the claim is an automatic red flag that it is either satire or just an opinion. I do this when my friends get overly excited about certain things only for me to kind of burst their bubble that something is a very cleverly fabricated hoax lol

It is interesting how some days its all you get is trolls. Some days I just cant buy a win no matter what I do. Today I havent lost a single game and I swear I am not doing anything different.

Welcome to que roulette.

Just had a match, we were 2-2. We defended first in round 3. We lostpoint A with 40 second left. We had Rein and Orisaas tanks, when out of nowhere the Orisa switches to a Torb!! We almost lost point 2 but we kept them off with no ticks.
We are oin attack at 2-2, enemy has no more time. We start to cap point A and the Pharrah and Torb try to Rush B with no healers!! They immediately got stomped by a waiting Roadhog Junkrat and Orisa at the archway. The Torb popped his ult after he gets clamped in Junks trap and then got blown to tiny bits, and the Pharrah was low enough to the ground that the Hog hooked and killed her…
We had 3 ults, and we should have grouped up. I said it as the Pharrah and Torb were moving forward. But they were still going with no heals in sight and no shields to defend them.

The Pharrah and Torb kept getting staggered and complaining about not getting heals when they refused to wait to group.

Its such a shame that an easy 33% point cap has to be so difficult because people always rush rush rush and cant take 10 seconds to combo uts together in one big push.

Done. :skull_and_crossbones:
