So I was actually thinking how would some people respond to being banned for 48 hours… and the answer is moar alts. MOAR! This will increase the account numbers of OW2 and make it look like it’s doing better, but these numbers would be artificially-inflated and not represent real players.
You could say it’s a partial count of people that care about playing (and possibly ruining) even more games so much that they would actually make more accounts just to do it, but yeah. Maybe this is their other reason for it and part of why they just keep going further.
You know normally I’d immediately laugh at tinfoil hat theories but… now that I think about it next season all heroes are free. This kind of enables more alt accounts over and over because there is no need to grind for heroes anymore. Hmm…
Actually it’s more likely it’s the other way around. People dodging penalties with lots of alts. That way they need way more of them. Some will be discouraged by that.
Is there evidence of this? Where did they say the previously locked heroes (now unlocked) would require the same amount of time to unlock? Genuinely curious cuz this has me wondering if we’ll see many more alts now due to this change.
Got it. So basically this benefits those who already had alt accounts. I wonder what the full time it would take to get through that “new player” experience would be on a fresh account season 10.
