OK so let’s imagine there’s a Pharah. And on the other team, someone who’s very tired of Pharahs switches to another hero. Let’s say Sombra. And then the Pharah dies. And then let’s say the Sombra decides to be really evil and basically spawncamp the Pharah a couple of times until it rage swaps to Sombra itself. And then the Sombra goes all the way back to spawn and swaps off to someone else. And then no further wickedness takes place on their part
Would we feel sorry for the Pharah orrrrrrrr not so much?
Funny that you should say that, because once the Pharah went Sombra, this theoretical other player actually did go all the way back to spawn and switch to Mei
Nah Pharah is one of my least favourite heroes in the entire game. Even more than Sombra. Sombra has to get close to interact with you. Pharah lobs potshots at you from Narnia where you do 20 damage a shot. Pharah is a boring free value hardcounter spam hero
Spawncamping ruins the game for me regardless of who’s being camped. So I would hate the Sombra more than Pharah by a long shot. I didn’t queue to watch someone go out of their way to annoy the crap out of another.
Spawncamping is more than just “annoy the other player” you lose the fight but get a pick so u kill them possibly preventing a fight changing ult while also letting you return to your team for 5v4.
You know, we kind of got stomped in the first round, but when the Pharah switched, suddenly that player became a non-issue. And then we won without much trouble, and the ex-Pharah finished with more deaths than elims. What a strange coincidence
It was so VERY much this and I fully admit it. And I did switch again as soon as the Pharah was gone, so it was nothing personal
I had a similar theoretical experience the other day with a player who normally doesn’t play DPS, but got flex queued and did the same thing to a widow…
I wouldn’t expect this theoretical player to have sympathy for Pharah in the scenario you describe.
I would say no, but that would make me a liar. Did this to a Pharah a while back and eventually she just stopped trying to leave spawn. No chats, no insult, nothing… I felt evil and told her I would stop lol.

it also happens to me and i remember A LONG TIME ago during the 6v6 days getting spawncamped by lucio as widow many times. i mean hey ive always hated lucio as widow but if its in the game its in the game
a lot of times it works against them. i remember one game on route 66 with a lucio AND winston just staying at spawn so i couldnt come out and play as widow BUT it didnt work out since their team never had a tank and healer in team fights most of the match. dont know how we won that game but they won. i never came out of spawn most of that match lol
