The worst part of all of this

Blizzard will be silent for a few weeks, waiting for the rage to calm down. People will still buy skins and battle passes, they’ll come out of this unscathed, as always. Then this will set a new precedent for what these mega gaming companies can do to their customers.

Unfortunately, they probably only need a small percentage of people to buy shop items and battle passes to keep the game profitable.

Profitable YES as profitable? not likely and the record they have right now, like lets be honest here people dont care when its someone else wronged but when you screw over your own fans? well… “MAY DAY MAY DAY WE ARE GOING DOWN !!!” Engines on fire and crashing into the pavement

When this dies down, the overall steam of the game will slowly drop with it. They’ll see a few more highs but I do think this game is entering twilight.

I actually think this has done some serious damage to Overwatch. Maybe it’s just me, but my queues are up quite a bit.

And Blizzard’s reputation is so bad, it’s hatd to see them still getting a healthy stream of new players after this. Who were probably their biggest customer.

Absolutely. There will always be people playing and it will get some interest spikes here and there when a new season drops, but the community has drawn a line in the sand.

Idk man… i think this situation is worse than people realize. A lot of people i know, including myself, arent even going to buy diablo 4 anymore because of this let alone keep playing OW2.

I have a crazy idea.
Just dont buy anything.
Just don’t.

3 Rules of todays gaming are literally
Never Preorder
Never buy on launch day
Never buy MTX

Third rule applies to Overwatch right now.

It is sad because you can see shills around these forums alone who will singlehandedly ensure that we never get justice for what happened. It’s almost like they don’t care about OW or love it either like they often claim so mindlessly.

You would think at this time people would stop having ill intentions and just accept the reality that what has happened to OW is a full tragedy and is unacceptable, there are no ways to spin it.

If people want to enjoy the game they should go do that silently without posting about it on these forums because this place isn’t for that.

I feel like most of the community is burnt out, and done with Blizzard. I know I am, and I was hyped for PvE with skill trees.

I know it won’t happen, but I wish that blizzard would just stop messing up lol

People pointing out you don’t have the actual timeline of what goes on, and describing what happens inside software projects isn’t shilling.

Saying “what you are describing isn’t how it works in practice” isn’t shilling, it is just giving you insight into an industry you don’t have.

I know how the industry works. I know the devs didn’t get enough resources and that their upper management deprived them of such whether it was money, lack of talent or hiring Joe fresh out of college who is blatantly taught that failure is kind of okay so not trying is acceptable too.

People who are fine with 5v5 and that the real PvE game isn’t happening are shilling and are in the wrong. If you enjoy it feel free to do that in silence. We’re going through a serious situation right now though and no matter who you are, we all lost and we all got scammed, manipulated, and gaslit in the end.

Right…

But that doesn’t mean the project was cancelled last year.

It means some of it was descoped last year (since they removed hero missions) but that doesn’t mean that talent trees were ALSO removed at that point. They could have been moved to story mode.

It is the insistence that the project was cancelled before OW2 came out which doesn’t have anything to back it up. That is the part where I think people have it wrong.

I don’t mind people saying this situation is trash, because it is, but them lying about a bunch of it so they can be even more butt hurt is crazy.

Might want to amend this.

Never play the game Again*

Kind how I feel with seeing how padded Season 6 is. Going to give Season 5 nothing big so it can “blow over” and then Season 6 with the story mission and new hero to get people to come back.

I don’t particularly care when it was canceled or scaled back. I just care that it was canceled at all. We waited 4 years essentially for nothing in the end. Because what we did get and what we will get will never be enough now.
