Sticking with this game, keep hoping it will improve, remembering those rare occasions when it was fun.

It’s strange. There are some aspects I really enjoy and have enjoyed for a while now and there are other things I hate about this game.
You go through the highest of highs and the lowest of lows and sometimes I ask myself “Why am I still playing this game?” Yet for some reason, I keep playing. I stick to Arcade these days and don’t take anything seriously, but it gets tough sometimes.

Hahaha every night I finish a session I’m like “this is such a waste of time! Its all trash and no reward”.
After I get home from work next day, I fire up my computer: “Maybe I’ll get a fun game with chill ppl… let’s try a few games” … 4hrs later… “this is such a…”

The player base. I mean, some are even willing to have a player automatically banned because they don’t agree with his/her hero pick. That’s just sad.
O, and bugs. Especially the older bugs in the game.

I know that feeling, especcially in comp, i always regret i do placements 4th season in a row, comp is dead joke trash but i always have hope only to see poop, for s12 i will do my best to do placements last week.
off course it’s the playerbase fault too but you can’t escape from that…
There is no singleplayer mode and even FFA can be ruined by ervery other player picking heroes like Roadhog, Moira, Symmetra etc.
You are always at the mercy of the other players.

What annoyed me is that they had to ruin the LFG patch with the private profiles,its horrible.

I can understand they want people not getting bullied because of their profile stats. But on the other hand this is helping people bully others more easily, You can’t spot derankers or hackers anymore.

Remembering old times will always make you feel like the early stages off the game were “better” than the game currently is
Can you remember how frustrating Hook 1.0 was? The times when Rein was able to hold up his barrier forever? (A lot of damage has been added throughout the last 2 years) The sweet, sweet FtH that made tanks feel like they are giantic squishys?
I dont. I remember the really enjoying meme Torb games where I was sitting around a corner doing stupid things (something I cant do anymore or dont want to do anymore because im playing Comp only, QP SoloQ doesnt enjoy me at all)
I remember the times were I did terrible but still had fun. Doing terrible now annoys me more than anything else
Im hoping there will be something that makes me fall in love with this game again, but saying the early stages of this game were generally better is just false. You just didnt realize how bad this game was back then or maybe you did but you forgott

What I meant is those rare games where you are having fun.
I keep chasing that feeling but get dissappointed 9 times out of 10.
Not only that,but just today I had a game (kings row,attack,comp) where me and another player didn’t pick a hero for like a 30 seconds then I gave up and picked Ana,which made him pick a tank (to fill for 2 2 2),and after 3 minutes of trying to take the first point and that guy pretty much jumping into the enemy team and feeding,I told him that he’s not playing tank well and then he told me “sorry,I barely play tank” which made me FLIP in my chair like 7 times,all of this could have been solved if private profiles were removed.
Am sure glad I never got into Destiny.
Friend kept asking me to buy D1 but I didn’t like the design where every character wear face covering helmets and armor.
I think it looked too generic.
I do feel you, thats why I stopped playing almost completly. Started playing other games, hoping I find friends there to have fun in OW again
I was trying to say that you feeling dissapointed is something natural that cant be changed. At least 5 of those 9 games are dissapointing because your expecations of your games dramatically changed the better you understand the game
I do hope they are working on something to make this game a bit shinier again but that this game isnt as shiny as it used to be isnt the games fault alone

There is so much that can go wrong and ruin your fun in this game.
When I play COD and some people on my team can’t play very well that just means more kills for me.
Only when all 5 other teammates keep dying without killing anything does it become a problem for me with enemys getting killstreak after killstreak and i get to play anti air turret but even that can be fun sometimes.
Teamwork is So important in Overwatch but hardly ever do the planets align and it feels like a good teamwork game.

I think Overwatch really needs something to make it that you can have fun even when your losing or don’t have teamwork.
In Cod it feels rewarding to shoot an enemy killstreak with a rocket launcher.
I guess the equivalent in overwatch is shooting a ripTire or stunning an ulting enemy but I just don’t get that happen much.

Cod has some really good improvements added to the game over the years.
Like when you kill an enemy thats about to get a killstreak you get the Buzzkill medal.
When you kill the number 1 enemy you get Kingslayer medal these kindof things keep the game interesting to me.

Yea and thats what I meant when I was talking about “expectations”
You expect people in your team to do their job properly
When you just started playing, you didnt know what their job even is. You might not even think about what you have to do your own
Taking away the teamwork aspect of this game wont help since its the very core of this game. If you want to play proper games you have to coordinate your group yourself most of the time or just accept that there wont be a lot coordination going on
