The widow and hanzo"need" we need is

Delete the hats from Crees and ashs critboxes. Now they can challenge these two heroes without getting deleted the second they peek a corner. Of course only within their range. Widow should still and would still have the advantage overall but the matchup would be more skillbased since their opposition doesn’t have a tank sized critbox. This might very well not impact GM+ play but I believe would have impact on every other rank regarding widow and hanzo counters.

Or y’know, you could stop trying to out shoot them and initiate using Ashe’s 175 damage AoE/DoT from outside of their LoS. Maybe see if you can co-ordinate with your team to advance in a way that minimizes their angle of attack. Too real?

Or, you know, fight them in your hero’s optimal range? McCree deletes Widow at close range, even at mid he has great advantages over her. Ashe, same as McCree, fires a lot faster than Widow, both can strave a lot better (which, in this game, is actually super effective), McCree has his stun/FTH combo, Ashe her dynamite + 1 shot. Both can kill a Widow easily. Also, Hanzo got 2 significant nerfs, LOWERING his effective range. And you’re out here wanting some unfair advantage? Best Widow counter are teammcomps, people just don’t like to use them.

I know you can do all of this. But be real a good hanzo or widow still wins alot of these fights without committing a cd. And one of the reasons is the critboxes. Imo this is an unfair advantage for hanzo and widow.

Because you don’t try to 1v1 a sniper at long-mid range? Like, that’s literally all a sniper does. I’m not even saying Widow is weak or anything, and i think the Hanzo nerfs were completely justified, Widow may even need some nerfs, but that doesn’t justify a change like that. You don’t need to be able to kill every hero in a 1v1 easily. Widow is easily countered by teammcomps and teamplay, you don’t need to give others HUGE advantages in 1v1s on top of that. Small nerfs? Yes. Incredibly huge advantages to other heroes? No.

I agree you should never challenge widow in a long range fight as Cree or ash. That’s the range she should dominate. But saying to not ever challenge widow hanzo in your optimal range in this case Ashe in mid range effectively says switch off that hero. Which means hanzo hardcounters Ashe since they both are midrange and play on the highground. Cree I agree can play in shirt range and help the team at the front without losing value. But ashe in this scenario can only hump a pillar and spam dynamite.
And don’t get me wrong I don’t think hanzo or widow are op. I just think ash and Cree need something to make them more valuable. And imo their huge critboxes are the main reason for their struggles. Since you think these changes are too much. Would you agree that their critboxes could be made at least slightly smaller to help them or are other changes needed?
