In Overwatch, players who use simplified Chinese to chat will be maliciously reported by other players and banned. We are Chinese, but we have our own accounts overseas. When we meet other Chinese people, we will chat and interact, but players from other countries will report us. Chinese players, in the world are being bullied, after being reported more will be banned, and finally permanently. And the reviews and replies are always AI robots, I have never played SCII (StarCraft).
I didn’t insult anyone by blocking my account with AI
And then reply to the work order is also the robot reply
Chinese = repeatedly reported = permanently banned
This irresponsible handling and ability
In a sense, it is “Blizzard’s discrimination against Chinese people”.
This is your responsible attitude?
Please find a Chinese person to judge.

People… are getting banned for using chinese pictograms in chat? Is that what this is saying?

What he stated. He also noted that he hopes a Chinese player would come here and give opinion on if that ban is reasonable.
I am a linguistics major so I am gonna reply him but I hope Bliz won’t ban me. lol

It kinda sounds like non-Chinese players are reporting Chinese players for speaking Chinese in chat.

My guess:
- Speak Chinese (language) and be reported
- Suspected they are Chinese
- Verify if they are (IP or whatever)
- Ban if they are (due to agreement)
- Banned Chinese go play China server
- China company profit
Blade and Souls did this between NCsoft and Tencent. I wouldn’t be a single bit surprised if same thing happened between BLZ and Netease

Exactly what I am thinking as well. They wanna make sure their $$$ remains domestically.
可是我在海外啊,直连的,用的自己账号,遇到国人聊天就被举报封了,查了一下国内情况很多人也是像我一样被封
well players will ban if they see chinese simply because a lot of those players often use a vpn to connect making the match a lag fest. I do not know if they arent allowed to play it or not over there but i cant imagine any reason to not just stay on their countries own servers.
那我就不清楚了。可能得继续敲客服…直到他们有真人回应你看到底是什么回事。很有可能是误封。你我都懂他们超懒超随便的

Players are reporting players for speaking in chat everywhere.

I’m in Europe, English is not even my native language but I report anyone who speaks any language instead of English in the global chat or team chat.
I’m not supposed to go to a Translator app to know if I’m being insulted or not. I let Blizzard decide that.

That’s just silly, we have tons of languages in EU; speaking a language should not be considered a bannable offense…

When I see someone speaking in other language that I understand mostly of the times is to insult someone. So I assume if someone is speaking in a language that I don’t understand is possibly insulting too.
No it shouldn’t. But that is on Blizzard to decide not me. I only fill a complain, Blizzard is the one judging and punishing.

Do you also call the police on people because they ‘talk foreign’? (I hope not, because that would be insane.)
Doesn’t matter how you cut it, it’s not a good look.
I think what would clear up this kind of behaviour would be for CS to start outright dismissing reports without context. If you don’t put exactly what they said in the chat box then they’re not getting actioned.

So pretty much you just abuse the report system since you cannot understand the language…… I didn’t realize speaking a language was against the rules. Since they “might” be saying something mean, that you can’t even understand.

Not sure why would you speak chinese with one mate when the others wouldn’t understand… Doesn’t sound like teamplay.
I don’t know if that’s why you get banned though. What about people speaking spanish ? Do they get banned too ?
In real life people are not so toxic as the community in this game, so I don’t make those assumptions. In this game when someone speaks a language that is not English in the global chat/team chat mostly of the times is to say insults. It’s not my job go to Google Translate very if I’m being insulted or not. Mostly of the countries in Europe force English learning at age of 8 or 11, there is no reason to start randomly speaking Polish, Spanish or whatever in global chat.
There is no such thing of rules or report abuse. If a player is disruptive in different games, it will be punished.
It’s not your job to act like the stasi either tbh.

I just report a behaviour that is possibly disruptive. It’s Blizzard job to decide if that was in fact against the rules or not.
