If I had a dollar for every time a Moira says “OMG I have gold elims, our DPS and tanks are trash” I’d still be broke but I’d be able to pay my phone bill. A Moira, Dva, WInston etc with gold elims over a DPS player is quite common. Just throwing a damage orb into a crowd can feasibly give you 6 elims a fight by simply chipping in a tad on each character, while a great widowmaker on your team may only average 2 elims a fight by getting two picks right off the bat. Does that mean you as Moira is better than your widowmaker? Of course not. But this medal argument is quite horrendous. Yet the opposite can also be true. If a team runs a junkrat and a pharah and the moira gets gold damage by just throwing damage orbs while consistently healing the team, there is a huge issue there. Just contextualize the medals properly.
For real. The number of times our Zen brags about getting gold elims… gj bud, you pressed E on the enemy and dps did their job /golfclap
The one stat that directly feeds performance SR for plat and below isn’t even shown and that’s time spent on fire , which is all that matters period. Sucks they won’t put it as a quick reference you have to constantly check your overall stat pages ugh .
I honestly never thought about that. Would be a good stat to easily keep track of.
But we’ll both agree that a gold healing and damage zen with a Moira on the team and a junkrat means those two are not doing their job
Not really. If you’re good at Zen you an easily get top heals and damage uptime.
But you shouldn’t. You do less heals than Moira and less damage than junkrat. If you get the opportunity to heal 10k then your Moira just didn’t heal anyone at all and gave you that opportunity.
In a losing game, perhaps. But if you’re doing very well as Zen, you can be securing all elims with your damage (how can Junkrat do more damage to dead people) and if you’re triage game is on point you’re orbing people who are taking damage and can access them all over the map whereas Moira may be focusing on healing the tank area, which probably won’t take much damage if you’re killing things as Zen .
So to generalize that a Zen shouldn’t be top heals and damage is not a good statement . Even if you lose a close game and you did that, it doesn’t mean your Moira didn’t heal enough , not always. It could have been team composition favors the healing range of Zen more than her .
Just as an example. The main problem with OW are people reading too much into the medals and you actually are a perfect example for this post .
Considering there can only be one gold medal there , someone has to be silver, and having a silver medal doesn’t mean someone didn’t do their job , that’s the key issue with the medal system , is silver is looked at as non-performance.
Or maybe I’m basing it our of personal experience and that Everytime I get gold healing as zen our Moira was just doing dps and throwing only damage orbs ?
Saying that zen who isn’t a primary healer shouldn’t have gold heals most of the times is different than saying " if Moira has gold elims dps aren’t doing their job" because Moira just does trash damage with her orb.
But you can only harmony one person at the same time , and Moira can heal multiple people + orb
You do know that Zen only gets assist in that case? If he also hits dmg to the target, yes he gets a kill. But just by putting discord to the enemy that dies does not grant a kill for him. Its basically the same thing if Mercy dmg boosted something like Widow and the Widow gets a kill, Mercy doesn’t get a kill and neither does Zen in that case.
If your only source of eliminations comes from discord orbs and not your own damage , need to work on your Zen mechanics. Utilize the full toolkit which can include very high dps.
Generally, when playing Zen, if our team is losing, I have gold elims. If the team is winning, I don’t even medal.
So when Zen ‘brags’ he has gold elims, he’s really saying the DPS are crap and didn’t do their job…which is the case.
You don’t get elims for discords. If you did, Zen would get gold every game.

Discord = call for a kill target = chuck orbs at the targets face with your team until dead . You should be landing lots of damage as Zen , if your aim is good, there will be times you land more damage on a target that is finished off by your Tracer. Doesn’t mean your Tracer is trash at the end of the day because you are good.
The point of the post is about medals , and like I said, having a silver medal doesn’t = bad play. Bad play currently can only be tracked by one stat, Deaths . Because usually that means you are making horrible positioning errors etc. Which means less up time which means less damage and elims .
There should be a card for most deaths the end lol .
If u get your ult often you can out heal moyra.
get rid of metals and give us a k/d/a scoreboard…
Medals have been an issue for a while. They don’t give you any useful information and cause you to be competative against your team.
I’ve suggested before that players should be able to see during the game if they are performing above or below average for the character as they play so they can have a proper gauge of how they are playing.
Medals need to just be removed from the game or maybe just show them at the end of the match.
Moira also has a healing ult that does a lot of heals and lasts longer , so even if I get my ult fast, chances are she’s getting hers fast too
And like I said before you said " zen gold heals is normal " it depends on how you play as what medal it is. If you are rein and have no medals it’s okay. If you are soldier and there is two dps in your team and you have no medals it’s not okay’
