The Truth About Boosting

Ok before you give me some hate, I am sharing “NOT MY PERSONAL Experience With Boosting”. Boosting as many people believe is bad. It ruins game and isnt just fun. My friend was very serious with getting his account boosted and ended up with the service. Prior to the overwatch league, the overall prices of boost were pretty cheap. Now, with the overwatch league, prices has increased. My friend got away with korean boosting service which is soooo cheap from 3447- 3750sr only cost 52CAD. Anyways, now he is in masters. I told him that he will drop very soon, but boy was I wrong. Now he is at 3813sr playing DPS and Tank and this got me thinking. Is this fair where its so easy getting away with this service and not facing any problems? Obviously lower sr ranks that get boosted to master will probably drop, but he said that from mid to high diamond to masters, isnt really a huge difference. I fear that many people will use this service and take advantage.

People who get boosted and simply don’t belong in the rank they got boosted to will drop unless they are a support one trick which is another problem by itself

They won 2 games?
What’s the sample size? That’s a pretty crucial detail.

What’s the point of paying for your rank? Is your self worth tied to it or something? At the end of the day, whether you are bronze, grand master or anything in between, it’s not like you’re getting anything different out of being a certain rank outside of some extra CP at the end of the season.

when he got boosted to 3753, he went up and down. Think he played like over 15 games and now he is at 3813

I COULD pay for a boost… or I could climb there myself. Which is more rewarding? And why do I play OW?

No, you are wrong. Sitting too long below platinum sr will decrease your own skill, because you’ll just forget how to play with a good team or viable composition.

I played with guys from diamond and I don’t feel my skill with my mains inferior to diamonds. Still getting 33% WR in low gold for 3 days: just a depressing casino. Tilted people and bad one-tricks are 75% of gold players.

Just a cheater.
That’s all.
Too lazy to do it himself.

33% winrate in gold? Interesting…
And you say you have the skill level of a diamond player??..

Then do it, get to diamond.

With over 1000 hours of playtime in total, my main is in GM, I have alts in plat and diamond.
I can assure you, Gold to Plat is a little different, plat to diamond is different, diamond to masters is quite a lot different, masters to GM is not comparable, and low GM to High GM is even more different still.

Don’t just say stuff, do it and show us.
Right now you’re all just hot air and no action.

Stop trying to convince yourself these people got lucky or are just a bit better. If that’s true, then surely you would achieve it.
You need to focus on yourself and improve, stop blaming the system or anyone else.

I also get tilted people, throwers, leavers and 1-tricks in practically every game to some degree in even GM.
Guess what though??? I have 55% winrate without even try harding.

he doesn’t belong in that rank if he didn’t earn it, no matter if he’s staying at his rank

Ok, I was in mid plat previous season. I had 70% 3 days before losestreaks. I don’t think I should be in diamond but I am not gold either. As many others. The skill spread in gold right now is something. Meeting Genji who can solo destroy team and Genji who can’t 1vs1 kill McCree for 15 seconds. Both had 30h of play.

Skill spread in low gold is beyond headache inducing. 1800-2200 hands down is the worst skill variance this game has to offer and it aint even close.

Do you know why diamonds who are smurfing in bronze can reach to diamond within 3-4 days? Because their winrate is 80%+.

I know several diamonds who were boosted by friend after being stuck in gold. After 2 Seasons they still in diamond. Why they not returned to gold?

Boosting is the same thing it was in world of warcraft, people paying real money to be carried. Any account associated with account sharing or boosted should be permanently closed. Just ran into one the other day, diamond kid quing with a 2000 rated player, the 2000 player playing in a diamond game as tracer that was literally killing everything as tracer… Yeah ok

2 possible reasons:
(i) Because they don’t play enough. If they only do placement, it’s going to keep confusing the system’s way of finding the hidden mmr.
(ii) they keep grouping up with people who can carry them. I know a guy who is plat standard who stayed in master for 3 seasons because he have GM friends and always ask them to smurf-duo queue with him. Now that his GM friends no longer play a lot of OW, he just dived back to Plat.

So, you are diamond coz of 1st?

I know a little secret friends use: they play together by 3. Less random. But they all boosted. Something wrong here. And they play more than just placements. Less than 100 matches in a season though. It’s only me who wasting precious time on useless OW.
