Once again SAMITO discussing about 6v6 and seriously it would be best if there was one podcast with him, Freedo from Your Overwatch, Hawk former OWL pro player and Aaron Keller, but Blizzard will never agree to that because white flag will already be in the air.
It absolutely was. They either just had no idea what they were doing or didn’t want to spend the resources reworking the heroes that needed to be reworked/rebalanced to fix the issues because they’d kinda already ditched the game to focus on OW2. Or a bit of both.
Double Shield was absolutely a design/balance issue. Not an issue with the format.
Double shield was never a main problem for most of the game. Other tank synergies were as much of a problem, but normalized. This resulted in terrible balance for tanks and the role losing most players. The change to 6v6 would need to double the tank players playing with weaker versions just to have the same times.
They reworked her, because her slow, bunker kit would not work in OW2. Otherwise, they would have kept her. They even said WHY they reworked her. Its was NOT because of double shield.
That’s neat. I don’t care about what Samito has to say. Do you have an argument of your own to offer? Because simply reposting other people’s words is not compelling.
supports have better dps capabilities than the actual role, bap, illari, ana, zen, lucio, kiriko.
they NEED these abilities because of the lack of the 2nd tank to provide support, which makes the game super frustrating most of the time.
Oh yes. 6v6 was: Fun, unique and motivating for me. I was always able to carry no matter role and the only thing which required was skill which i was slowly getting. That’s why i agree with Samito’s points regarding 6v6.
Fun and motivating I get, though I’d argue the same applies to 5v5, and would apply equally to 4v4. Unique, though? Hardly. Titanfall 1 and 2 featured Attrition - a 6v6 PvP mode with secondary objectives. I’d argue Titanfall 2 as a whole is far more “unique” than Overwatch ever was, due to both mixing parkour and Titan gameplay as well as PvE elements. Overwatch is ostensibly just arena PvP with a twist.
This is why I asked for a specific argument - because I had a suspicion that your preference for 6v6 is subjective and could easily be applied to 5v5. That’s been the case nearly every time the topic has come up. I’m not saying you shouldn’t like 6v6 - far from it. You like what you like. I’m simply arguing that the team size difference is largely academic to the overall experience.
Eh, I like 5v5 over 6v6. I had the same skill issue in 6v6 that I had in 5v5, something a lot of players can’t admit up to. There’s no real difference to the game other than the pace of it being faster, which I prefer anyways.
