So unless they fix tanks for OW2 any new players you get who try out tanks will probably never touch the tank role again.
I watched it. He even says he prefers D.Va because she has mobility. Poor guy doesn’t know yet D.Va feeds a lot too the moment you improve some and matchmaking puts you to play with a little better players.
Ultimately the main reason he hated it was the constant Ana nades.
Blizzard will soon see this problem when they want new people. Bias players on this forums won’t get it, but this will happen.
this is quality criticism, someone from outside the community who plays a similar game.
thank you for posting op.
The saddest part, is that his mechanics weren’t too bad. He just isn’t used to playing tanks like they are tissue paper. The state of tanks is sad.
Meanwhile Paladins tanks are beefy Meat walls.
His entire post was how this game is not going to be accessible to new players when OW2 drops. Did you even read? New player input is completely relevant.
im literally saying the same thing, im not being sarcastic.
i said i think its good and a lot more relevant then our own criticisms as a community simply because we are willing to stay with this game due to how much we love it no matter how many changes have occurred that we may not like.
Oh, its hard to tell on these forums lol.
Are tanks in Paladins just fat DPS like they are in this game though?
Nope. They do little damage but also have the majority of CC abilities that let them maintain space. They are how tanks should be.
i thank god every day i’m not a paladins youtuber
thats actually quite an interesting way of tanking, are they the only class with cc or are their cc more potent in some way?
why?
a fun game thats relatively balanced, good community maybe less toxic than our own.
This is what happens when you keep buffing damage heroes and nerfing tanks. I’ve played paladins some. Not only are the tanks way better but the supports are as well.
I don’t think they are the only one’s, but I’m struggling to think of other CC besides tanks. The have way less barrier, but are certified meat shields. It often takes 2 dps to focus one tank down. another interesting note, becasue characters are build off card stacks, basically everyone can build a self heal build at the cost of ultilty/damage buffs. This game has way more self sufficient gameplay than OW.
Too little heals, get an ability that heals as you run? Too much heals on the enemy team? Use a Cauterize card and lower healing on shot targets by 30%
i dont know much, but thats what a tank means to me.
im not saying the tank should be able to kill 2 dps, but certainly be able to survive against 2.
I think you’d like the game a lot then. Its not nearly as polished as OW, but it sure is fun for tanking. Its a bit to unpolished for my blood. And the competitive is not very populated.
They are not, some supports have good CC as well such as Seris who if she lands 4 primary shots and hits her ability can stun if she has that specced and whose ultimate is basically gravaton surge. Another support, Jenos, has the ability to lift an opponent.
From what little I have played, Tanks in Paladins do have some of the same issues as tanks here like ranged hitscan poking you out from beyond a range you can interact with or getting chain-CC’ed, but overall I think they still felt a lot better to play.
Since it is F2P, I would honestly recommend everyone who enjoys Overwatch to give Paladins a fair shot. It isn’t as polished but it is fun to see some of the differences between the game and just get a new perspective on things.
I think the objective thing to say about this is that while the player in the video is a new player with good mechanics they don’t have the understanding of how to play this game. There are people within this community who’ve been here for years that still don’t. Is there too much damage right now? Yes. BUT that doesn’t change the fact that people simply DO NOT respect the amount of teamwork the game demands of you and EVERY TIME blizzard tries to accommodate those players it breaks game balance, like the current Hanzo patch.
Now to be fair to this guy and show he isn’t just bad. Watch him play Pharah for the first time in a DM mode. I think we may have a new Pharah main on our hands.
Dude hits a mid air shot on a Tracer. On his first time playing Pharah. O_o
To be fair he’s a paladins player. That Is a HIGH bar for tanks, tanks in that game are wonderfully designed.
