Soft reset… I still get placed plat 2, at my season’s end… right?

After placements, I have dropped to plat 4 with stomps after stomps. Not close games, nothing entertaining, just stomps. Sure if they were all close games and I anchored 5 of them… sure its my fault. But these are pure stomps, not fun…

So is my real rank plat 4? but how did the placements get me to plat 2? Were placements wrong for putting me at such a lofty rank? Or is the plat 4 wrong because I am just going thru an “unlucky” losing trend?

and I mean STOMPS… like there going to lose me again… it sucks.

I had a similar experience, lots of stomps either way. I’m the same rank as you.

At the start of season everyone is still doing placements and there is probably a few people in each lobby who don’t belong there.

It’s a challenge for sure, but pressure makes diamonds.

Not when you’re dropping several ranks due to smurfs, throwers, leavers, casuals, and garbage that were somehow placed in the wrong rank.

That’s a cope. Everyone in the ranks above you has to deal with those same things, except they can win more of those games than you. Your statement may be factually correct, and with a small sample size it can disproportionately affect our rank; yet it’s still a cope.

Only thing that matters is our own performance. I have never lost a game I couldn’t have done better in. Worrying about anything other than ourselves is a waste

Stomps are a player creation in a game designed with snowballing as the objective.

Some stomps happen in games with evenly matched teams. Most stomps happen in games with grossly unevenly matched teams. It’s usually not hard to tell which one it was when you’re playing the game. In case you’re not sure, pressing tab usually helps.

The rank system had a soft reset and a lot of players came back to the game. In addition to this the console pool that chooses to use kbm got added to the PC pool.

If you belong there you should be able to climb back up there. Games are just rough right now. Especially since some people got deranked far below where they should’ve been due to a bug.

Just give it time and the matches will balance out eventually. I honestly think what we’re seeing are the people who got deranked too low making their way back up. It should be better in a week or two.

See above. As for smurfs, everyone got reset. Chill out on the smurf talk for a bit.

I see why the high rankers are complaining about diamonds in their games now. I’m only diamond 4 and got pulled into one with a GM tank. Then the next few games with a bunch of masters.

Either the overall player base is is shrinking a lot or they made master and GM too elite to get into. So it’s forced to pull from the diamond pool to make their matches now.

Probably something they should have thought about before forcing 70% of the player base into gold and plat. Of course the one good thing about Rivals is the one thing they refuse to copy from that game.

There are no rank resets. It’s just hiding your rank until you play 10 games. That’s it.

This. It’s extremely clear that unless you lose every single placement match, and sometimes if you do, it will put you right back where you left off last season. Smoke and mirrors.

You all believe too much in this game. Just take for what it is. Its never going to be a great game it’ll always just be a mediocre good game

Honestly I think this is the defacto truth that the match maker makes a difference. A non negligible difference. Sure overall players have some say their rank, but to completely ignore a critical part … is somewhat delusional.

Particularly match quality.

It’s like the absence of deeper knowledge is still negligible to a good match maker.

Yeah the ladder is wonky right now cuz new season with a ton of changes and new hero. Just gotta deal with it.
