The doomfist zenyatta interaction is just as garbage and unhealthy for the game as the brig tracer interaction was, or even the sombra Hammond one.

Both camps are dumb imo, yes brig was a problem and needed changes, so did doom (not sure about current changes haven’t gotten to play yet with them but I imagine not unless the passive nerf was enough)

You can run away from Brig as tracer.

What about deleting all hard counters and just leaving soft countering.
That would need a total balance change and reworks for some characters but worth it.

Thing with Brig is that she literally countered everything except Pharah

She was an abomination of game design

Genji has the most skill based matchups with the supports out of any dps…
He doesn’t ‘‘just sneeze’’ on enemies. There’s plenty of opportunity to outplay Genji. He doesn’t hardcounter any support.

I consider old Brig the same as Mei. Countering everything in sight. In fact, i think old Brig and even Doomfist was easier to counter as team then the current Mei.

And how do you expect to fix Reaper-Pharah or Winston-Bastion interaction? Or other similar ones? (Spoiler alert: you can’t)

Reaper E to be changed into a thrown orb what you can activate anytime, throw at Pharah and tap.

Winston barriers every hexagon to break individually like Mei walls pillars. Winston will have a chance to dive until Bastion breaks the hexagons blocking the enemy team.

And what about Hammond-Sombra? Mercy-Genji/Tracer? Symmetra-snipers? Hog-Mei/Reaper?

If we are to continue with your idea, we’d have to break the game so hard it wouldn’t be playable at all.

Both interactions should never have been a thing.

Supports should be countered by other heroes. With this said they are also given the tools to fight back. Ana for example has sleep dart and nade. One of the things that I dislike about ow is how they added more hard countering. You should have the ability to play around the counter if you’re good enough. Brig when she was first added was super unhealthy for the game. It was a problem because even if you were a godly Tracer or Genji, you had no ability to play around her.

Supports are meant to support their team, not get kills and dominate the game. Brig did that. Supports do have the ability to counter heroes in other ways besides winning a 1v1. For example Ana counter Roadhog, but not like Anas are off killing Hogs, but with her utility of anti and sleep. Zen counters Genji with Trans vs Blade.

Like I mentioned before, I don’t like hard counters, I don’t think it’s right Doom hard counters Zen.

Nope, it’d just be cod with everyone the same genaric character. There is no way to do class/character based fps without counters in the game.

Regardless it’s a dumb argument, OW was developed on the basis of counters and character swaps mid match.

Yes, right, agree on that one. It’s just weird that people want a class-based half-MOBA game with no “hard” counters.

Maybe unpopular, maybe not, but Sombra never caused problems to me as Hammond. Shes easier to outplay than Mei. Mercy has great mobility to escape in a good team from flankers. I dont really play Sym. Only in specific maps. And i havent ever considered Mei and Roadhog as healthy characters to begin with.

I dont say that countering has to go and make a bland FPS like CoD and CS, but to not win a team fight with pressing H.
