The "Sombra was picked in contenders so She must be fine" taken to a whole new level

Yeah I know, I’m saying it’s more a symptom of how people here just blame other character’s players for all their problems

They also said that they could revert Sombras changes and she would be at a similar power leveShe has the sam problems as before onöy because She got picked as an surpris EMP bot doesn’t mean She is strong.

She even got counterd alot at the end of contenders

They meant before the infinite invis, not back to EMP bot, which I agree with.

Sombra is good atm because the meta stopped completely screwing her over.

Just FYI - Sombra’s winrate dipped 10%.
It’s at 45.95% at the time of this post this week in GM.

:upside_down_face:

Sorry for the missunderstanding I do ment infinit invise.

And let me correct you Sombra was used in proplay because:

  • She could still charge EMP fast
  • It was nothing the Team trained for. The only thing they could do is mirroring
  • Pro play has 100x times better teamwork the we have on ladder.
  • The meta strongly favors her

I believe stats show that no one was really dumpstered as hard, but it was because that felt awful to play against because you did out play her if you blocked it within .65 seconds, but it would still go through.
However, that being said, and not that this matters, but the fix was inexcusably bad. Like, I don’t know if they just don’t do bug tests, but they were so obvious it makes my face hurt.

I’m not seeing this, lowest win rate in gm this week on overbuff is mcree at 49%

EMP is not the reason for her current viability, seeing as it still guaranteed a fight with every use last meta.

All Contenders teams have adapted to Sombra. She is meta, the counter start is to mirror. That’s what meta means.

This isn’t a correction.

Not only is this not a correction, you’ve completely failed to elaborate on why that is.

I play Main Support in T3, I am a Top 500 level Sombra, and I followed the pro scene longer than Sombra has been in Overwatch.

I’m sorry, I think I have a better understanding on why Sombra is good right now than you do. If you disagree, feel free to go through my actual reasoning for her strength in the pro scene and come up with a counter argument.

Well I don’t think we will agree with each other.
The only thing we can do is wait and see what contenders will do in the futher and how it will translate to normal ladder.

I know this is diffrent on GM but I do not think that Sombra ever can be played in platin/diamond without people throwing or at least tillting as soon as you pick her.

Fun fact, when there is a subject that you are well-versed in, You aren’t going to be able to get any point across by saying things like:

Now you might be right, I don’t really know. But you didn’t really approach this conversation reasonably(a lot of people didn’t tbh) but do you really think you’re going to convince ANYONE of ANYTHING with that?
I for one think she just needs the visual indicators and bug fixes. But I understand why people are frustrated and thinks she needs more. I don’t think they’re trying to make her Hanzo from a season ago.

doesn’t matter what the community wants, they balance around pro play. sometimes you cant get the values pros gets. a hero can be balanced at low levels but broken at pro levels, and the pros need balance more than casuals. its their livelyhood

you do realise that says she has a 54% winrate, not a 45% winrate like you are claiming? it says 45% for a day, not the entire week nor the entirety of her change, to have a 54% win rate overall and a 45% winrate on any of the 7 days counted in this week, she would have to have a significantly higher winrate on those other days

The number on the main page for “this week” is the average.

So yeah, my point was that her winrate is volatile. It’s not consistent like Apagar is claiming. :stuck_out_tongue:

You know contenders isnt really pro right

The clue is in the name.

I literally posted my reasoning right under that, which you conveniently left out.

If you going to quote me, don’t do it out of context.

It’s almost like it Sombra were too good, she’d do more damage than Brigitte.

Slow and steady is the way to go. I don’t want to deal with an OP Sombra.

Doesn’t matter what your reasonings are. Point is that you present yourself arrogantly, and in a way that no one would take your reasonings into consideration.

I read your post, my point wasn’t about your reasoning. My point was that this is a dumb way to argue your point. No matter how long you’ve been in top 500.

To put it bluntly, the reason people don’t care about your qualifications is because you’re going about this in a way that makes it hard not to think of you as…kind of a douche.
Edit: word choice. not trying to be mean here. Personally I get that debating with lower ranked players who are more often than not, wrong can be exhausting. I’m just saying
