So. I figured it out. I figured out the change. The one thing which makes the game infinitely more fun. Are you guys ready? You won’t believe it. It’s crazy.

-Increased each cooldown by +50%
Yeah. Crazy, am I right? The game would be less about cooldowns (which I don’t have a problem with, but it does get a bit repetitive) and more about mechanical skill. Say you could play soldier:76 instead of Doomfist. You could play Widow instead of Hanzo. Hell, Mcree might even get a bit of playtime. And I’m thinking the meta would probably consist of Rein, DVA, Soldier, Mcree, Lucio and Zen/Bap.
If this happens, skill would come back. Obviously, it would be reverted after 1 season, but I think it’d be nice to have a new meta.
So basically sledgehammer nerf every single character that relies on cooldowns/abilities while leaving characters who aren’t cooldown dependant (like widow) alone?
Alright, I guess my idea might have been bad. I guess double sniper would be pretty annoying, but I feel like a meta based on skill instead of cooldowns would work a bit better than… whatever this is. But hey, I’m not a MOBA player so I clearly don’t know how to balance Overwatch. All aboard the Power Creep express!
Not gonna lie, it would be intersting to test this out as an arcade mode first and I’ll actually go as far as say: double all cooldowns, just go all in with it, basically an opposite of total mayhem. Would be interesting to see what comes out of that.
How is not being able to use your abilities when you need them skill ?
Let’s take the hero I play (D’Va), DM is used to block ults, to stop the sniper from hitting me on way to get to them etc. increasing it’s cooldown will make it very often be not available.
Look, I’m a traditional FPS player. I came to Overwatch because it was advertised as an FPS game. I think if you kill someone you should deserve that kill- you shouldn’t be relying on pressing a random button to win a fight. I’d rather be headshot by Mcree than punched into a random prop by a Doomfist who probably didn’t even mean to hit me, because that isn’t skill, and that isn’t an FPS.
That isn’t going to work when the overwhelming majority of the roster relies on cooldown management for their skill expression. Even the mechanically demanding ones.
Lol. TBH, I’d be fine with them doing role queue for alternate seasons. Say one seasons we’d do goats or quad support or something crazy, next season 2-2-2.
Weird how you seem to think everyone plays the same composition of characters, must be a boring game you play if that is the case. Variety in the team comp is what makes a game like Overwatch fun compared to a ‘traditional’ FPS where everyone is the same.
Sorry that you are so focused on ‘your’ way to to play that you ignore the rest of the game, if you maybe tried new things you would have fun without having to break the game with your stupid suggestions.
