What do you expect? He is popular. It was the same thing with mercy and the moth meta and with 2 years of dva in every owl game.
People wanted Dive gone WITHOUT nerfing the heroes that were making it possible
So it literally was a “be careful what you wish for” moment

You do that with heroes that make it harder for Dive Heroes to kill (armored, shielded, etc)… Buff Sombra… idk… Not make a hero that you press a button to do damage and heal all at the same time.
This is a billion dollar company… They can figure it out

Yeah, everything they did was met with more complaints. Complaints about Mei, McCree, and Sombra all happened when they tried to buff them
People didn’t want heroes buffed to counter dive, and they didn’t want to nerf the Dive heroes

Or they’re working on a balance patch and are too busy to answer your every call?
An event is coming up and most of not have come with some sort of balance patch in the past
Nerfing dive meant nerfing Winston/D.Va/Zen.
But then people here cry “muh tank/supports” as they have done about double shield and moira healing.
As you can see double shield is still a problem, but maybe buffing Genji is part of Blizzard’s solution to that, instead of nerfing double shield because “people don’t want tanks nerfed.”

Then maybe they should of gotten off their collective butts and made offtanking not throwing. You can’t blame double shield when the devs have let both support and tank roles fall into “Do insert only viable duo or you’re throwing.” Devs have no one to blame but themselves for the sorry state of the game.

Even those YT videos that show like stream highlights etc half of them are Genji plays lol

No it’s just the fact Rein was the clear design for maps and offtanking is just fat dps battery. The game was designed as a casual moba fps that hadn’t even found it’s target audience yet before it was thrown into E SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORTS and let be destroyed from the inside out. The 2016 design has and is always going to heavily clash with the direction they are trying to mash into. Unless 2 is a complete and total overhaul of everyone and everything it’s just gonna be the same.

I think this people are sick because this makes no sense.
Maybe they are just sad old men that only thing they have in their lives is money.

It meant nerfing Dva, Winston, Tracer, Widow and potentially Genji/Zen/Lucio depending on how things went.
Definitely looks like the better option now that we’ve ran the just make new heroes to counter experiment a few times. Each time it’s been a disaster and just made things worse.

Dive happened roughly after the patches that buffed D.Va but mainly Winston. If they walked that back it would have been the end of Dive but they were way to stubborn to revert patches, still are today.
This game is in shambles, always will be if they keep caring about owl

It does tell a lot. They buffed him and specifically said they were going to be watching carefully. Well, the evidence couldn’t be clearer and they have literally said nothing. While is it not a 100% confirmed evidence, it is pretty strongly indicates that this is not a surprise. The silence screams that they knew it was going to happen and just don’t want to draw attention to it because they aren’t going to do anything about it for some time. In other words, until OWL gets sick of the stupidity of his current state.
He is popular because he is strong. Mei was popular when she was strong. Bastion was even popular when he was given an overtuned Ironclad. If they gave Symm his power level she would suddenly be popular too. They only difference is that Genji has always been strong.
To busy to put a post out saying they are working on it? Literally just a ‘hey, we know he is broken and we are working on a fix’ would be the minimum one should expect with this much of a broken balance state.
