Nobody really knows. It’ll say it closed due to an unexpected error - so it sounds like the string that connects the servers separated from the tin cans probably.

Likely just some weird server crash bug. Every couple months I’ll have that happen during a match, then suddenly we’ll all be taken to a new map, and everyone from the last match will be in the new one. Match chat tends to pop up with a lot of confusion afterwards, myself included.

Blizzard doesn’t ban cheaters only QP leavers, so its probably just a crash

The servers are just… ‘really good’
I’ve had that happen to me way back in OW1. When the server load gets too much it crashes out.
Are we surprised? There’s only 2 data centres for the entirety of Europe, Finland and Netherlands. Every other normal game has Brexitland, Germany, France at least
one time I was playing quick play (not sure if it was open or role queue) and we got into the game, it was numbani. And after a few seconds, another person joins the game so now its 5v6, Overwatch didn’t realise how to handle that so it kinda just gave up. It put us in a new map and whatever. Thankfully this bug has only happened to me less then 5 times in my 4 Seasons i’ve played overwatch…
