The scoreboard is unhealthy for this game

Ow players will find any reason to yell at each other. even if its just the killfeed. So unless you want to remove every bit of in game feedback or stat tracking, where then people will just yell at them for not doing what they want them to be doing, then ok

Catering to gender obsessed children and their constantly fluctuating pride representation and a over inflated and greedy AF shop are unhealthy to this game and any glimpse of a future for this franchise.

Buy the trash and shut up.

bro u needa see ur team stats for REASONS. one: to see if ur team got their ults ready. two: if someone is sht-talkin u, u can compare ur stats to theirs and see whos actually doing worse. three: u can get hints for enemy ults, see if theyre ready and get u prepared to react to it.

I wonder if they would have thrown anyways though in that situation. We can never know, but I feel like the scoreboard might be more of an excuse to be toxic or throw than a cause itself.

Personally, I think the stats it gives are really useless. Every character has a different win condition, and what they give us doesn’t describe that. If they’re going to give us stats, I would like meaningful stats.

The only purpose it serve is to show by how much one team stemrolls the other (i. e. how bad the matchmaking is).

Most of the time ppl in one team all have similar score anyway and if they are losing it is going to be low across the board.

Scoreboard keeps your peers honest.

A necessary, and welcome, evil.

Lack of transparency is always bad, therefore Scoreboard is good.
See how competitive works? Hiding ranks and not updating every match? See how lack of transparency makes the game objectively worse?

Advocating for lack of transparency in 2023 is crazy. Specially knowing that Scoreboards have been in games providing transparency for more than 20 years lol.

PS: Anything can be used for Toxicity. Thats not an excuse for not liking Scoreboards.

You can just do what I do and squelch the chats.

Scoreboard is great. If we’re getting rolled and I get a feeling I’m in an unbalanced match I can quickly check to board to confirm if my feeling is true.

Leave, and queue again. Nothing needs to be said, or typed.

All the people who believed a scoreboard would prevent you from being the scapegoat were in for a rude awakening. The people who play this game are just so insanely incompetent that being the best in the lobby for all to see is not enough.

I mostly agree, the truth is 99% of the community wont know how to properly use it, and will just weaponize it against people.

I’d love to focus and play the game as it was intended, which is with my team.

It’s too bad I’ll never get to do that, though, because my teammates are spending the majority of my matches arguing over irrelevant scoreboard stats in TC and VC. ;-;

While this may be somewhat true, I don’t have players in my games arguing, throwing, leaving, sitting in spawn, typing over the killfeed, or really using any other feature except for the scoreboard.

Wake up on the wrong side of the bed today?

Scoreboards keep your peers toxic.*

Yes, it’s normally awful, but with Overwatch, the player base simply cannot handle the transparency of anything in any way or form.

I really wouldn’t care about the scoreboard if my matches weren’t being affected, but every other game now someone is crying about X not having enough Y instead of just playing the game.

What they do should not affect you from just playing the game. I’ve had teammates like that. I either just laugh at the childishness or tune them out.

This is happening in comp, not casual.

How am I supposed to play the game when I have one person sitting in spawn typing and another who’s throwing because of the person typing? Overwatch isn’t Call of Duty. It’s not a game where I can just do my own thing; I need the help of my teammates to win/play.

Hiding stats and not being able to chat with the enemy sounds like bot matches.

That happens whether scoreboard exists or not.

The only way to avoid human behavior is to avoid playing with humans.

I know it does, but the difference between these things is that with the scoreboard, I have players arguing, throwing, leaving, etc. every other match, and I rarely go more than three matches without it occurring.

With the inevitable toxicity without the context of the scoreboard, that will always be a thing no matter what; I’ll only see it maybe once every 20 matches, like with a smurf or the occasional thrower, or whatever the point is; it’s much rarer to see the toxicity unless it’s in direct conjunction with the scoreboard.

for competitive reasons obviously. You don’t play competitively. They have something called the OVERWATCH LEAGUE which is dead AF. Maybe you’ve never heard of it. You’re a casual but this game doesn’t only cater to you. AND MAYBE you’re SO BAD AT THE GAME you’re tired of getting FRIED by your team. STATS MATTER PEOPLE want to SEE HOW MUCH damage they’re doing and how many kills people have because this is a competitive game. YOU’RE DEAD WRONG.
