The removal of CC makes ma little bit worried

Okay so, hear me out.
I am really happy that they’re going to remove CC - we have way too much in the game and it is super easy to stack them.

I am just a little worried about how we’re going to deal with mobility?
For example a good Tracer would be incredible hard to deal with without any form of CC.
Yes, tanks are still going to have some forms of CC but they’re usually in the front line, creating space for their allies, especially if we’re going to have only one tank.

You’re not the first to say this. Hopefully Blizzard will realize they need to reduce mobility if they remove cc. It’s good to be worried because this could be game ruining if they don’t actually work on it.

I feel like CC doesnt need to be removed, but Chain CC need to, so like 1-2 seconds after being CC’ed, that hero cant be CC’ed

Stuns are a blunt, dumb, crude tool, not a good solution at all. They’re like getting chemo because you wanted to cut your hair bald.

Furthermore, 90% of mobility problems boil down to Tracer. Tie her to boulder, done.

It should also be noted that most CCs are actually staying. Bash became a mobility tool, sleep is staying (against better judgement). Bap, Zen, Mercy and Moira have no CC at all and they’re tough nuts to crack.

In Overwatch CC has done nothing but make life the 10th circle of hell for tanks, mobile or not, while hyper mobility has been king, queen and admiral even though the 11 post launch heroes added as many stuns as the entire original roster combined.

Without brig or protection zen is tracers renewable ult charger.

I don‘t mind CC for melee heroes.
But the best way to replace CC is to give other mechanical tools to squishies, like mobility or more damage.
But they simply can‘t remove CC while not giving anything in exchange. Any 1v1 duel should be fair imo.

Any hero should be allowed to either win a 1v1, escape from a 1v1, or sustain long enough in a 1v1 until backup comes.

Nope, Bap exists.

Also Zen kills.

Of course Zen can kill Tracer. But if your Tracer is consistently dying to Zen than something is off. If Overwatch 2 keeps going the direction it is, then there will be very little Zen can do to stay alive.

I am so glad you shut this down before me. Lol

Simple, we make every projectile hero in the game hitscan. There everything is fixed lol. For real though unless blizzard nerfs mobility, tracer and genji are going to easily be the only viable choices for OW2

As it should be. Zen is a glass cannon that can ignore 25% of your HP by looking at you.

Well, leaks have already reported that hypermobile DPS are a big issue in OW2 and are being left unchecked. Unfortunately Blizzard seems averse to actually dealing with this problem. What I think should happen is that they nerf/tweak hypermobile heroes to need be in threatening engagements for longer and/or re-introduce some former CC as stun-less cooldowns that prevent a target from using movement abilities.

What I think will probably happen is Blizzard ignores the problem because it gets OWL views and the player numbers haven’t plummetted yet. Then when they can’t afford to ignore the problem anymore they release a hero that hard-counters Tracer, while countering every other hero even harder.

At this stage of the game Zen is more glass than cannon. Things like discord and damage boost only really punish tanks, considering damage is so high right now. I actually agree with you that Zen should have strong weaknesses. The issue is removing the cc that they are is too much of a buff to heroes like Tracer.

At his current stage, he isn’t a glass cannon at all.

If you mean OW2 stage, then we have no idea unless you’re into the alpha.

We have added 11 new heroes that by themselves more than doubled the amount of CC in the original roster entirely, atop of the existing CC buffs to those afterwards. Tracer still the most powerful DPS in the game by far, seconded by Echo. As tanks are concerned, Dva and Ball are the stronges, not coincidentally the most mobile tanks.

CC is not, will not and cannot be the answer to mobility. We are neck deep in CC, suffering its worse consequences because tanks are so frustrating things to play, yet mobility is KING.

So lets stop this stupid fallacy. CC is not a solution with downsides, it is a problem to be removed and nothing else. The solution to mobility must come still, and hopefully it will be nerfs not busted bullcrap.

D.Va might be strong, but her mobility is halted due to her Critical box location - so I’m not really concerned about D.Va being “rampant.”

You are entitled to this opinion.

But I don’t view disagreement on ways the game is good or bad as a “stupid fallacy”.

Tracer remains unchecked even with the exagerrated amount of CC we have right now.

It is a stupid fallacy and the current state of the game proves it.

Because Tracer’s kit is “too good” for this game. And it’s always been on the stronger side since the start of this game, till now. Her power status hasn’t really changed.

But No “CC” without toning down tracer, is a HUGE HUGE buff to her.

But you know this already :joy:

Tracer has been in need of nerf for years. Nothing changes. There’s no difference between “the most powerful” and “the most powerful+”.

But I’ll say it again, if CC did not and cannot hold down mobility, the biggest example being Tracer, Echo, Dva and Ball, then for what good is it besides turning this game into pure disgusting garbage-fill leachate?
