I never said that i cant kill him i never even said that hes op, i only stated that hes annoying because of high value/low skill and noskill oneshots
But if you care please explain how you can kill him during shift rclick combo
Genji canât succeed without having his hand held? Yeah. Seems right.
The issue is, Genji feels a lot more skillful than he is, giving the people who play him a weird view of the game.
He is legit an easy hero once you have a few hours on him, easier than most heroes. But because he FEELS skillful, the peeps who play him tied their ability to play him to their egos.
They have to keep playing him too, since it feels to them that the other heroes are both easier AND they are do far worse on them.
Now, because they feel like they are playing âthe most skillful hero in the game, even though they are legit awful when you put them on an actually hard heroâ they get super angry at abilities which are hard but feel easy.
It is just a massive mismatch between what is hard, and what feels hard, leading to an super annoying egotistical part of the player base.
People who feel like they are much much better players than they are, and are angry when their hero actually gets balanced.
See the number of them who say that he was garbage in OW1, when he was the 4th most played DPS.
That is why people are sick of them.
Heâs⌠Really not.
Are you basing âtechnical skillâ off spamming spacebar and M2?
Heâs a very forgiving hero, with a dedicated get out of jail card⌠Two, really.
Instagib dives on squishies pose no risk, and with the complete gimping of Mei and Cassidyâs CC options, he has very little to fear or plan for when doing this. Genji players are eating VERY well in the current state of play.
The problem is, it should be fair among all heroes. If you think Genji requires the lowest skill floor among all heroes, then it should be raised, but if not, the lowest one should be the first to be adjusted imo.
Many people complain when a skill hero had a noskill ability. But they somehow forget that this is Overwatch, a game with full of BS abilities.
He is far below other actively used (not dead like junk, pharah, mei, sym) dd in therms of skill. Same mmr soldier and genji are basically on other levels of skill
only big noob play genji real gamer play tracer
Itâs not that genji lacks skill, NO hero in the game lacks skill. Itâs all relative, all on a varying spectrum on what KIND of skill is being employed.
Itâs that Genji has a kit that basically autocorrects any mistake the player made, and gives him a tool to block ALL incoming damage and send most kinds back to the sender. Oh, and he can deflect artillery. Thatâs cool.
I mean, doesnât he have 4 passives?
DPS passive.
Double jump passive.
Blade dash CD reset passive.
Wall climb passive.
His kit is BLOATED with handholding that would cause riots if other DPS had something similar.
Just imagine if Tracer god blink CD refreshes on assists. good enough for Genji, why not her?
I think the issue is that the skill required to play him doesnât transfer well onto most other heroes. Which makes Genji mains inherently more likely to be a 1-trick since they tend not to do well on other heroes. In a game about switching, it doesnât help their reputation.
I donât think just many small passives automagically imply âbloatedâ. Remember Genji had those passives(except for DPS passive) in OW1 as well, but he was regarded as a throw pick for a long time in OW1. Tracer who had no blink CD refresh passive was the alltime best DPS.
OW allowed many abilities which are effective just by existing, like turrets, Mercy healing beam, or even Lucio/Brig AoE healing and etc. Compared to this, Genji passives look much more healthy for me. It just enables you can do smth, and you should do it. It requires effort at least each time you wanna take an advantage from that.
The fact that Genji has historically performed far worse in Bronze than he does in higher ranks suggests that he does in fact take skill.
There is knowledge of the game âskillâ and mechanical skill. Bronze players are bronze players because of the first, not the latter
Also id like to see the stats if you have pls
I can assure you that bronze players are not secretly CS gods who havenât adapted to OW yet. Game sense is often bad, but poor mechanical skill is almost universal.
As for the stats, I unfortunately canât provide them because Overbuff is no longer being maintained (thanks OW2), but you might be able to find a wayback reference or screenshots somewhere.
EDIT: I lied. Check overbuff. Make sure you have it set to the last six months and just go through the ranks and look at Genjiâs winrate.
Holy good lord this thread
This board, really.
I really dont care what you can assure, this isnt cs, there are plenty of heroes that dont require mechanical skill at all so this is a straight up lie from your side or a complete misunderstanding of the game basics.
Yes, and those heroes absolutely dominate in Bronze, where player mechanical skill is lacking. Genji is not one of them.
Ok so youre implying that torb or sym or winston or rein are so bad that they cant get out of bronze?
No skill?
no
Low skill?
absolutely.
Genjis hitboxes on his attacks are hugely forgiving. His damage is/was insanely high.
What about Junkrat? He gets value by spamming in random directions.
