Is that why is Gamecon and every other event still happening at the same time it’s supposed to when there’s a pandemic but Blizzcon is not.
If it were still scheduled early November virtually then we’d receive OW 2 news in a couple more months rather than almost half a year away.

Seems to me that the complaint is more about Blizzcon than OW2 specifically. There are a number of reasons why Blizzcon is canceled this year.
Personally I do think they should hold a Virtual Only Blizzcon, but ultimately it is up to Blizzard. They are not obligated to host a Blizzcon nor do they owe us a Blizzcon. Also, keep in mind that COVID-19 has affected many, many, many aspects of life, including business. So it’s more than likely that Blizzard is just naturally behind because of it.
Blizzcon is held to showcase what’s new with Blizzard, and then some. If they have no news because things have slowed way down, there is zero point of a Blizzcon.
We all want Overwatch 2 information. But we need to remain patient. It’ll come.

They’ve already stated they’re hosting a virtual Blizzcon early next year.
You totally missed the point of the post.

If they are hosting a virtual Blizzcon early next you, why are you complaining then? Just be patient and wait for the information, lol.
Once again, you totally missed the point of the original post. Please reread.
The complaint is why are other companies hosting their shows on time virtually but Blizzard cannot. Hence the reason everyone is upset about no new OW2 news at Gamescon because we all have to wait another half year rather than 2 more months.
Indie company I assume.

Truly I do wish we had a virtual Blizzcon, even if there is nothing much to show.

They stated there will be one early next year just not on time like other companies who made no excuses and solidified theirs.

Oh that is good, I cannot wait for that.
Blizzcon: Hosted by Blizzard featuring their games
Gamecon and other shows: Independent from game development companies that showcase new releases among many game development companies.
Gamecon and the like do not have to also worry about developing the games. They just give the games and companies a platform. It’s very different.
AND Blizzcon normally has stuff like costume contests, game demos, booths and panels, etc
Thank you for finally taking the time to attempt to comprehend the original post, but this new point is still invalid and doesn’t make any sense.
Blizzcon was planned for November this year. Pandemic happened and now it’s not.
Other companies shows were planned for a certain date. Pandemic happened and still said event occured on planned date.
At this point, I truly believe you’re just debating for the sake of debating.
Bored much?

seems odd that blizzard of all people cannot manage to do what gamescom has done

You made it a point to come onto the forums and make this post, but when someone engages in the discussion you get all hot and bothered about it. I’d say this is a debate, but you don’t seem to respect my side of it…so it’s not really a debate. And while we are on the topic of debating, debates are healthy…as long as both sides respect each other. And I keep coming back to respond because I literally get desktop notifications when you respond. Lol…
Please refer to my previous response here. Gamecon and other similar events showcase games from a bunch of different game development companies. Blizzcon showcases strictly Blizzard games. And the panels, booths, and events are Blizzard related. It’s literally a Blizzard themed convention.
If there is no news to report, there is zero reason to hold a Blizzcon right now because no panels, booths, or events can be held due to the virus. Blizzcon is much more than just a showcase.
So if there isn’t any news on their games to report and you can’t have the rest of the convention events, why even have a Blizzcon?
The Blizzcon isn’t always a guarantee every year. there have been editions that didn’t take place at all for development (for example, for SC2 some years ago). If they decide not to organize it, it must also be measured by the delays due to the health emergency and its unexpected events in the roadmaps.
And for Overwatch 2 … it is following the historic times of BLizzard (very long and unpredictable) and it should be so. The game needs a lot of intense brainstorming and the weekly experiments are a great way to work on analyzing single mistakes made previously or ways to go.
The assumption is that they’d have something to show for then, considering they have been working, like all other companies, through a pandemic/or working from home.
Also, this is far from a direct complaint towards Ow2. It’s more about a complaint that Blizzcon isn’t going on this year, so big news about any blizzard game is subject to whether blizz wanna anounce it elsewhere, like they did with the launch date of shadowlands.
Does the submarine swim, is. Overwatch 2 real?
