Seems like everyone wants to “Fix” (Break) something that ain’t broke.
So let’s talk about a Widowmaker change, that i, myself, a Widowmaker player, could get behind.
Reduce her main field of view, to the central circle…
While allowing her to see her sides and back, while scoped instead, when something approaches too close.

Basically i want to recreate THIS:
(The alert to something approaching could even take as long as it does in the animated short, a flashing beeping directional cue, then a visual… or hell, even just the directional cue.)
Oh, and can we maybe change how grapple works?
Perhaps it launches, sticks, and we’re tethered on like HamHam, then we either press the button again (Hold the button upon pressing for immediate action) Or perhaps swing slowly, or even hang upside down.
(And dare i say we need a zoom-in feature to the scope… just sayin. though that’s just wishful thinking, scaling with in game sensitivity would be a nightmare.)
Alright, just to rub some salt on the wound, and for some fun, what if upside down shooting had inverted controls? But seriously… i wanna see something like these changes happen.
I’m open for a change that won’t completely destroy her, though this change would barely effect her as she’ll around have her crosshair somewhere around the target she’s aiming for. I see what you mean though, some suggestions on these forums are ridiculous and would obliterate her. Greyfalcon mentioned a suggestion where her grappling hook cooldown could be paused when in scope?
What do you think of that?
Also, I’d love a zoom mechanic for her, it’d make her easier in lower ranks IF she was nerfed (only IF she was nerfed would it be added)
Agreed. She needs to be like Ashe where she isn’t completely useless in the lower ranks, I don’t think a damage nerf is necessarily needed, how about some sort of nerf to her grappling hook, and compensate with a zoom mechanic to make her a real sniper?
How i’d like for it to work is, targeted directly like HamHam’s, sticking to the exact location of your crosshair, and when pressed and let go, you’d “stick” like the rat, but if you held the button down, it would grapple you to the surface.
Allowing for tricky hanging shots and even slick getaways, leaving it on cooldown when the grapple is dislodged.
Which btw, would in essence be a nerf to it’s cooldown, by changing how it would be used.
So like:
A sniper that is slightly less mobile and more vunerable to dives, but really REALLY deadly at range, with a zoom mechanic and possibly a semi camouflage mechanic, I like the idea of making her be like a spider too, imagine hanging upside down from a ceiling waiting for a zen to come >:)
This would also be true… her grapple would be used for setting up shots more often, making it less readily available for quick getaways when dove onto.

Again like I said, I feel like she can be so much more of a hero than a hero with a gun and a grappling hook. That’s all she feels like RN.
