For all the hate it’s gotten, I’ve noticed a dramatic decrease in leavers. It hasn’t been a problem for me or any of my friends since we don’t leave that many games. Good job Blizzard.

Yea Good job Blizzard, imagine having penalties for leavers in a competitive game. Theyre behind the curve on everything. Old blizzard is dead, new blizzard is incompetent.

it doesnt at all and aaron should of been fired for the garbage it has encouraged throwing…he clearly wants to kill off this game…you realize this game has becoming or maybe has become the worst rated game on steam becuase of him

Every time I complained in the old World of Warcraft forums circa 2006-2009, I had no idea how much I would miss those developers. I had no idea what would replace them.
If Overwatch came out in 2004 with WoW, leavers would have more harsh penalties on day 1 then they do now. It was a better culture back then.

No… it doesn’t. If it worked I would not be, at last check, at 10min penalty for leaving a match. I ONLY leave games that I get backfilled into, as it would be unfair to those that stayed to have me on their team. I could not care less about a backfill match, and won’t try, at least replacing me… they might have a chance. They need to give us an “Opt out of Backfill” option, and Prioritize people who do leave games in progress, as backfillers.

Just so you know, the backfill match doesn’t record your stats at all. No accuracy, eliminations, or win loss. Its a free match for you to do whatever you want to.
Nope, don’t care. Nothing will ever get me to stay in a Backfill.

Don’t get me wrong. I am not telling you what to do, just was not sure if you knew the backfill match didn’t count for you is all.
I appreciate you trying to inform me of something I may not have known, more people need to do that. That said, idc about my “record” I solo queue and play to have fun and kill time. I would rather sit in queue for 5-10 min (as a support player that rarely happens) for a fresh match, then ever step foot into a Backfill. They want me to backfill, they need to up the “bribe”, give me Mythic currency, instead of the “bonus 100xp”, and we’ll talk.

I am not sure about mythic credits; however, it is about time that they dust off the freemium currency incentive to queue tank. We are almost there, baby! Just a touch more before the DPS players start crying and we will be Rich C!

The only problem is, now when you get games with throwers in them, or where both teams decide to just dance and emote on the payload and not play, YOU can’t leave without getting a penalty, but reporting those people does nothing.
The problem is terrible late at night on the EU servers. I’ve played 3 games so far tonight and all 3 had throwers/griefers in them; people who were typing stupid stuff in chat over and over, dancing on the spot, emoting - basically doing anything other than playing the game. What makes it worse is that they won’t go into a custom game and just dance about, cos they are doing it deliberately to ruin other people’s games, knowing nothing will happen to them.

The leavers I see are almost always the ones doing worst. I get sweaty lobbies a lot. Just a coincidence I’m sure 
I feel a bit sorry for them if they get wacked. But they also dumpstered a lobby for 3 people and myself, and turned a fight into a stomp. Staggering just happens organically waiting for a bf. Ggs.
I like the penalties a lot. The difference is marked since they were implemented. That scenario happens much less frequently now imo.
Still waiting on my first backfill since they added them

I’ve not noticed much change at all. I play on console, gold/plat elo, EU.
I think a lot of new players simply don’t know about the penalty. It doesn’t actually tell you it’s there until you get hit with the penalty.

Brother, OP is talking about QP not competitive.
This actually really irks me about this games playerbase. Why are people so scared of playing ranked that they feel entitled to people sweating for them in qp?
