The problems with the "ignore ball" argument

The problems with the “Just ignore ball and go after his team” argument are:

  • He isn’t going to just ignore your team.
  • He has constant CC and will be displacing and gaining ult from your team while you “ignore” him.
  • His damage will still allow him to secure kills and do so even easier while you’re “ignoring” him.
  • You’re not outrunning him, he’s one of, if not the fastest and most mobile character in the game.
  • Flyers are projectile heroes and not everyone can be a flyer, his mobility makes projectile heroes worse against him and his grapple opens up an abundance of opportunities for him to at least momentarily join and annoy then in the sky.
  • Forming a flyer-comp just for him frees his team up to pick hitscans for easy shots on the characters floating in the open sky.

It just seems like the “ignore ball” argument is for bad ball players, it’s far from being that simple when playing against a decent ball who is one of the most disruptive characters in the game.

I’m starting to think Ball players came up with the argument as a 5d chess move, ignore the character that benefits tremendously if you ignore him, a brilliant idea for sure.
