The problem with telling creators first

lets compare valorant to OW, valorant has just released a new hero and has released 8 new hero’s since 2020 i believe.

the problem with telling creators first to build trust with them is your community doesn’t trust you, while we get to see other devs actually release content.

your players don’t enjoy seeing being taken second for so long. lets go back to valorant right

reyna was announced on the official valorant twitter on may 30th and released on june 2nd.

we have been hearing about the content creator talk for weeks, we have been being promised vague “soons” for who knows how long. even if other games tell their creators first, they actually do things like release content when they say they will and give their players a lot more active info that they actually want.

and not to even mention, the better way to make content creators happy is to actually release content instead of the “Will we wont we” game. their job is to make content which it is easier to do if you have content…

no community wants to hear “Over the coming weeks” from mike. we want to see a devolpment roadmap, or maybe a release date for literally anything, or maybe a map or a hero. those are the things that actually builds trust with creators and players.

so when i see things like

it just feels bad.
