at first people would argue that it was tracer. she was on the cover of the game and seemed promoted. she has always been strong, rarely changed but only number tweaks and is still one of the strongest heroes, probably been meta multiple times
later it might have been sojourn, the release of overwatch 2? i mean she was kinda featured as “OVERWATCH 2”. very strong and still strong to this day… might be a dev insert or something, who knows? isnt popular with the fanbase tho and seemingly never was. tracer was the same way i think but to a lesser degree than sojourn. at least she had a fanbase lol…
later comes and probably STILL is the star atm… KIRIKO. she was probably a fan favorite the day she was released. i think this is a community favorite and the developers realized since the million skins. she came at a time where luckily for the developers they “needed” a cash hog for the skin shop… enter kiriko. she was broken in the beginning but nerfed to be balanced somewhat but is still probably one of the best supports. she is strong since she COUNTERS the best support which has always been ana. cleaning the grenade is a big deal … or the healing debuff which is probably the most broken thing ever in OW.
i dont know what it is about kiriko that people like about her. personally i dont find her attractive at all. she is young yes but is mainly a stick figure. weird skinny girl with big feet. annoying personality but most of the heroes are actually. still she must be the most popular since the most skins. i mean you would think the accountants would figure out which hero is selling the most skins. i wonder who is 2nd? mercy? … probably

she has a new contender… JUNO… i forsee this hero maybe surpassing kiriko in popularity if she hasnt yet already. i dont know what it is about that hero that is more popular than kiriko? younger? sweet? thick? (heh) and maybe a naive personality… uhh yea

To me, it’s always going to be Tracer, no matter what. She just embodies ‘the spirit of Overwatch’ far better than anyone else. I don’t care who Blizzard puts on the box or whatever, Tracer is the poster child in my heart.

The problem with Juno is she has the worst healing in the game. Its hard to be the face of OW when the main thing about your character isn’t fun to use in game. Every time I heal with Juno I feel like I’m doing nothing to help because its too easy to eat right through her main heal. The ability heal is slow to use in some situations and her ult is only usable so many times per match.
thats cool and i think she was in the beginning. one of the more popular heroes community wise but i dont think she was the favorite. some can argue that mercy probably was the favorite or maybe d.va… one of those two
sojourn was “featured” but yea seems like she didnt have a fanbase. to me out of the 4 i talked about she is the most attractive. for me personally, still her personality or aura kinda is very bland but man is she hot lol…
MY favorite has always been widow and still is widow to this day, she is iconic but not the poster star. ill always be a widow fan even tho i hardly play her anymore

That’s the situation with most of the support roster thanks to the dps passive.
Even with reload, her healing is still better than lifeweaver’s or mercy’s.
But she does need 80% accuracy to reach that.
Her main utility is her speed buff, which is stronger than lucio’s.
In a coordinated setting, that speed buff makes her one of the strongest supports.
But in a solo environment, she’s quite avarage. Like most supports.
She isn’t really the face of overwatch. She’s a floating stick figure with the face of a my little pony. And we all know that half of the pony fans were “cloppers”.

i know right but the evidence has to be skin sales. i mean why would the “suits” make a million of skins for a hero that wouldnt sell
they probably know venture is basically pennies or yea… she wont sell anything. maybe for 1 overwatch gold coin skins?
Soj has never been the face of ow, no amount of AKJ posting will change this. Tracer ow1, Kiriko ow2. Those are the facts, straight up, no cope. Juno couldve been the face of an ow3, but she is working together with Kiriko now.

I feel like Mercy is to Tracer what Kiriko is to Sojourn. Tracer and Sojourn might have been the ones on the box, but Mercy and Kiriko were/are? the really popular characters.
Not to say that Tracer is as unpopular as Sojourn is. I just think she’s overshadowed in terms of appeal by the likes of Mercy.

Juno realized that the way to topple the Queen was through voice lines.
There is just nothing about her that stands out, shes not hot like widow, pretty like mercy or cool like sombra and while I like her personality more than most I wouldnt even notice her if she passed me on the street. It feels like such a forced manufactured hype. Like we got spammed with her till we tricked ourselves into loving her.
The worst part is that most of her skins suck. Like legit zarya tier besides a couple of collab skins. Its kinda hilarious

for me its engaging gameplay with both tracer and kiriko are the absolut queens of it.
heroes like mercy just stand 0 chance for Engagement oriented gameplay.
And they are also conventionally attractive (aka based of majority and beauty standards)
I hate Juno, I think she’s highly annoying, this is my own opinion.

now i wonder about freya, she seems generic to me personally but not as much as sojourn. i mean the lore is kind of dying so we just get basic backstories now. i havnt seen much fan art about her and i mean the sfw kind lol…
it would be cool if there was more short stories and lore… oh well
