They are the ones not pressing W. They are the ones not switching. They are the ones making idiotic decisions. They are the ones just throwing. And then the leavers who do not want to be put up with that are getting punished for not wanting to stick with crap players who drag them down.

So you are telling me that it happens in third or second game?
Not so much in my experience. It’s the reason I wasn’t a fan of the leaver pentalty in QP; a lot of the time, someone would get angry and leave and oddly enough, we’d start doing better with the backfiller.

honestly i would rather people leave than be crying in chat, 2-10, and half afk in spawn
these games are lost before i even started them but at least i could roll the dice with new teammate rng
I like backfilling so long as it’s not into the DEFEAT screen because most of the time I’m a server admin in those lobbies, especially on tank. I don’t know if I’ve ever read anything confirming that they try to backfill with stronger players but it does feel that way often.

To be honest the leaver penalty is kinda like a double edged sword. I remember back when there was no leaver penalty people would leave left and right at the slight of any kind of inconvenience. Out of like 20 games Queued I would get to play maybe 5 of them with a full team, all others were just leaverfest. That was not fun. I literally could not play the game.
But then again now you are stuck with people who do not want to play or throw and you need to sit there and take it. I do not think it is something that can be solved tbh. It is the people not the system. The system cannot do what upbringing failed. You cannot change people. They will always find a way to abuse it at the expense of others.
