The Passive are fun

It’s great to be able to adjust your hero.

Mercy actually feels more viable with the passives, so there’s that.

It would probably be more fun if each of the roles had been balanced fairly.

Can someone list the passives each role has now?

DPS didn’t need passives.
Lets review them, shall we ?

  • Can see threw walls any enemy they wounded : riiiiiight !
People have been banned for that.
  • 20% more ammo : yeah, lets give hitscans and most projectiles more reasons to be a living hell for supports. You claim you are skilled ? You don’t need more ammo.
  • 30% speed with each elimination : yeah… a lucio boosted-like cassidy/pharah/soldier/reaper for each elim. That’s what this game need : more unbearable mobility for already overpowered characters.
The support passives are okay. Not good. Just okay, making a little better being a support, right now.
Haven’t looked at tanks passives. Not the energy to watch what stupid stuff they invented to not go back to 6v6, where the real potential is

20% cooldown reduction is one of the best and the 50% more healing on targets below 35% health makes Mercy a solid pick again, while letting other clutch heal. Only the speed one is bad.

You overvalue something like 20% more ammo. The speed boost is nice and we had it before, but only good on flankers. The crit sight is Sombras old passive, that is nice, but not crazy.

They have no clue what they’re doing and are throwing stuff on a wall hoping it sticks.

Do you just get all three passives for picking that role? The thing says pick your passive, but I cannot find out how to do it. Looks like you just get all three to me.

When you pick your hero, you can see new squares on the top right.

When you select your hero (or change mid game) the passives are in the top right corner.
You pick one out of the three.

Agreed!! I can’t speak for every role but it is amazing for supports. Ana with a small speed boost can help survivability, and alternatively, the reduced cooldowns can make her abilities usable more often despite how much Anti and Sleep have both been nerfed.

Absolutely horrible supports like Mercy and Lifeweaver are relevant again. Lifeweaver can save people with grip more often. Mercy’s healing is ACTUALLY decent for once with the enhanced healing under 35%.

My worry is that already strong characters can get broken. Kiriko with reduced cooldown on Suzu and Swift Step is just unkillable when used with half a brain, for example.

Found em! Thanks for pointing that out.

Just more of the game playing for you. An invisible buff that no one can tell you have, to combat a problem that they will not acknowledge is a format issue.

What is the new feature? Just heard about it now. Finally the devs are actually trying something for once. I remember somebody suggested something like this before, it’s good to see that they’re listening to their community, at least the good kind of feedback like this.

I think this is exactly what they need to make solo-tanking work, a dynamic passive that tanks can pick to reduce their weaknesses.

The passives are a neat idea but I feel like they need to be more hero specific rather than role based

Probably need a balance but yeah it’s fun.

20% more ammo on venture is pretty lit, ashe too.

Definitely, otherwise it could make certain heroes too OP. Hero based dynamic passive system. Kind of like the card system in Paladins, but for Overwatch.

Yeah, I think pickable passive is potentially a solid idea for single tanks who lacks their second tank. Not too sure if it’s necessary for DPS or supports.
