I just wanted to give my feedback on the current season and how I like and dislike it.
Clash and Flashpoint
So first of all, Clash; I REALLY love Clash! It’s probably the best mode they have added yet. it fits really well with the Overwatch 2 playstyle and you can tell that Blizzard really made careful decisions regarding the map design and how the game mode is played.
I always feel like I can win when playing Clash, and it usually ends with a close game.
It has some similarities to Flashpoint, but Flashpoint has already been a very good mode since its release and now the addition of the speed boost from spawn has made it even better!
I mostly enjoy the fact that these modes/maps have minimized sightlines and high grounds which are a big issue in Overwatch 2 in my eyes.
Cosmetics
The skins are very beautiful and it makes you really want to progress through the battle pass to earn them as fast as possible.
The fact that we finally got a good mythic skin after Mercy and Ashe who weren’t great is amazing!
The Highlight intros are also very nice. Seeing Doom with a kitty caught me off guard. XD
But I am not very happy with the emotes and voice lines tho. Artists on the other hand did a great job with the sprays, I have to say.
Juno
Just like in the test phase, Juno is still quite fun to play and isn’t annoying to play against like other supports. What I mean by it is that you don’t have to play around her or swap to deal with her compared to Ana where it’s super frustrating to play against her and you need to track her abilities, plus you most likely need to swap to deal with her. Or Mercy where you need to prioritize her to win. And let’s not even talk about how boring to play Mercy and Ana are.
Juno doesn’t have these frustrating traits and seems mostly balanced, so, good job, Blizzard!
Balance
Lastly, balance.
I feel like there could’ve been done more here. D.va still is very oppressive regarding the fact that she has very few counters and those counters aren’t played by many. Not to mention that she has no weakness since she has Mobility, good burst damage, an extremely good defensive tool, and in general high survivability.
Mercy has become very problematic again with the pocket potential on certain heroes like Cassidy, Ashe, and Pharah. Talking about Cassidy, I genuinely miss his magnetic grenade. It was an enjoyable ability to use and play against since it required skill compared to Flashbang, now he feels frustrating to play against, and isn’t as fun to play anymore.
Looking at the health changes, I do see the vision Blizzard had here and I do approve. But it may need some nerfing to do on some burst damage like Sigma’s Accretion or Widowmaker overall. But that needs careful consideration and more analysis.
Anyway, that’s all I wanted to share with all of you!
For those who may question:
I am High Masters on all roles and top 111 on Tank. In Overwatch 1 I was High GM top 68 with Lúcio
Thank you for reading and have a blessed one!
