The origins of McCree's false name

So one thing you gotta know is that Mccree canonically runs a blog where he defends his escapades to the general public under the moniker Joel Morricone. This is genius on Micheal Chu’s part in 3 ways. Firstly this ties in with that McCree/Dombra interaction where he says his name isn’t Joel. Secondly Joel Morricone and Jesse McCree have the same initials. And finally and most ingeniously, Morricone is the last name of Ennio Morricone: writer of some of the most famous scores from Westerns such as “The good, the bad, and the ugly” and other movies featuring Clint Eastwood, who is likely the inspiration for McCree’s character. Props to you Micheal.

That was never confirmed to be McCree’s pen name. It is just a popular fan theory.

So you mean to tell me that you think that much evidencr ia just a coincidence?

I’m not saying it can’t be true, it just isn’t confirmed canon.

When was this said? I don’t recall this? Source please?

Also, I recall them saying the name “Joel” was a running gag among the fans since they called McCree “Joel” from “Joel McCrea” the cowboy. It was before they knew who McCree was.

McCree is anagram for
MeRcer with one extra R replaced with extra C

Who else Matt voiced? MacCready.

McCree is actually Joel McHale in a hat.
