The option to remove certain maps from quick play rotation

How do I remove certain maps from my quickplay, arcade, or any other noncompetitive rotation? Is such a thing possible? I’ve done a terrible job with keeping up to date with Overwatch features. If there is an option and I’m entirely overlooking it, please disregard this whole thread. I would also much appreciate it if someone told me how to remove them from rotation.

I really hate the king of the hill maps like Ilios or Nepal. They usually grow stale after the first round with me, regardless of victory or defeat. Given the option, I would remove them from my noncompetitive rotation options in heartbeat. I think they’d be so much more bearable if instead of being a best two out of three type of match mode, the three maps were separated into constituents and just played as is for one round. That’s just my opinion.

I also personally think it’d be a great idea to implement a map filtering feature for those who are less fortunate with time. I’m certain there’s more than a handful of people who have difficulty finding time to play any games at all. I’m also certain that when they do find time to play, it’ll be something not so binding and easy to get into a queue like Overwatch’s quickplay. For me, it would be so much more enticing knowing that I would be getting into a queue and going into a map that I would enjoy playing because I filtered out the maps that I don’t want to play. If I queued into Nepal, Ilios, Lijiang, or Oasis, I’d immediately just leave. That’s time I spend in queue for nothing. Yes, I know. Quickplay queues are relatively fast, but I’d rather just know that I’ll never see the maps at all in my noncompetitive rotation.

Thoughts?

There’s an argument on both sides. If you could select maps, you’d probably wind up with one or two fan favorites that get played 90% of the time. So people would have a hard time playing maps that they don’t ever get to practice.

On the other hand, 2cp is absolutely cancer in unorganized games - and I’d love the option to never play 2cp ever again.

Since you said quickplay. You can only do it by leaving at connection. Till you get into the map you want. No other options.

These are my exact thoughts on these kind of maps, but for Mystery Heroes. Usually the team that wins the first round with a good comp will destroy the opposing team in the second round.

There is no legitimate reason to not include a map selector for qp. “Oh but the queues”-- They won’t change that much because most people are going to completely ditch 2cp (as they should) and then a few people will pick only a couple maps. The queues will be fine until the game starts dying.

You make a good point. My thoughts on it are that if the maps that Blizzard made are so overwhelmingly ignored, would that not send a message to them saying something about what the Overwatch community likes and dislikes? It would provide them live feedback as to what works and what doesn’t work for future reference.
