I am at the ripe old age of 42 and am enjoying this game, win or lose; good or bad comps.
I just figured that maybe a thread should be started and become a nice niche corner for us internet silver beards to chat about the game and what makes you play OW given that the demographic is predominantly younger than us.
Damn it, I’m only 32, gonna need a fake ID, thought I out grew those
I’m 36, though I’m incapable of growing a beard, silver or otherwise.

we all enjoy gameplay… tho we require some good lore - and theres not much of it 
Just three more years for being 35. I wished this game came out when i was 18 or somewhere there. My health isn’t doing that good but i’m still having some fun. It feels frustrating sometimes but i am managing.

It was my 13 year old who got me into OW. She said that she wanted to try it so i bought us both copies. i figured that gaming together would help with some family bonding. She has stopped playing ironically and i am hooked.
I am 30 now, but gaming with my father is some of my most treasured childhood memories. Keep it up!
Indeed. The back stories are a little sketchy but i am sure that with time (and financial success), those will come, like for SC and WoW.
I know that feeling. I, myself, was never much a FPS player, having only completed 3-4 FPS games in my entire 30+ years of gaming; but i can definitely feel the effects of being older. Getting headshotted by a widowmaker when my brain says, hide and my fingers just cannot move in time kinda sucks. hahah! or when i wanna hit my ult but was just a little too slow!

i believe so, they said OW is for years to come… but this is going too slow and they made some mistakes alredy
i am not even convinced if they really work on it, because there are no comments, no information, no dev updates ‘lore incoming’ etc.
Same here (I am 30). It’s a little frustrating because I’m sure I could have easily been diamond plus if I was just a little bit younger.
My hearing isn’t as good, my eyesight is worse, and my reaction time isn’t what it used to be.
I manage to hover around 2800 which is so annoying, haha.
One of the many reasons I don’t play a ton of comp.
Turning 34 this month, do I still count? Gotta admit, OW is the only PvP game I’ve ever really gotten into.
Not meeting the requirement, but I’d like to use the opportunity to ask you a question.
What is your stance on gaming becoming increasingly more tailored towards youngins and as a byproduct becoming faster and flashier (As seen in OW)?
I grew up with Shadows of Amn, Starcraft 1, Warcraft 2 and the like. Damn, how I miss games like those.

I’ve been gaming since Commodore 64, Vic 20, the TRS-80, Colecovision, Atari 2600, and Amiga were all the rage.
My reflexes have slowed, but my passion for games has only grown through the years.
The technology enabling fantastic games just keeps getting better and better, and the games become more immersive. I’m still waiting for VR to become mainstream. I have a nice Samsung Odyssey VR rig that I bought specifically to play Overwatch on, and alas, Overwatch won’t work on it.
Oh well, maybe another game will. it’s an investment that will eventually pay off
