Hey, It’s the first week of Overwatch 2 season 11, and there’s a new weekly challenge system! That’s fun and all, but you have to complete 3 weekly challenges to get the full 20,000 XP. The problem with that is since they started the season at the end of the week, I’ve finished nearly all the weekly challenges! (Except two.) It’s saying I’ve completed 0/3 weekly challenges, and the weekly challenges reset on Tuesday, as usual… I know it’s not that big of an issue, but it’s really annoying when things like this happen.
Yeah, it’s really bad that weekly challenges don’t reset each week, no matter where you were at in terms of completion.
I was lucky. Last time I played (like 3-4 weeks ago), I was at 7/8 for the leveling up heroes challenge so I managed to complete one weekly challenge in 1-2 matches tonight.
Also, Let me link our two threads that might get no answer
The weeklies stack now + the weekly sets carry over week to week
So you will go into next tuesday with 2/3 towards the weekly rewards then next week the 2nd weeks set unlocks too.
So next week when you complete 1 weekly, that will complete the first weeks set at 3/3. Then you unlock week 2s set so any weeklies you then complete count toward week 2’s set. Presumably it will be 0/3 again so you just need to complete 3 more weeklies and you finish week 2 as well
If I remember correctly it was 5k for one weekly, 10k for 3 weeklies then another 10k for (5 or 6) weeklies. So less overall XP but easier to accomplish. I haven’t completed level 200 on a season yet so I will for sure not be getting it done for that last title.
You are right, not THAT big of an issue but it is a poor customer experience. I will have to stare at that not getting completed for the whole weekend, which is when I play most of my games.
Is it worth completing more than 3 weeklies during week 1 or should I just complete only 3 of them then wait for Week 2 to be unlocked… ?
I don’t play much, I’m just aiming at BP lvl 80 and that’s it.
I don’t like seasons with no new heroes to play.
Thanks in advance.
I think the weekly challenge resets are just broken post-patch. I hadn’t even logged in since Saturday or so, and all the weeklies I had finished last week are still finished, so I’m screwed out of some progress (and white credits).
It is pretty obnoxious that they start the season on a day other than weekly reset and don’t do anything to compensate for weeklies that may have been completed earlier in the week.
They’re trying to make some of this bonus XP more adaptable to players’ time availability, but it seems like they can’t do it without breaking something. I think they also net-nerfed total bonus XP for doing weeklies, but I could be mistaken.
If:
Then:
Yes, you should wait and do them week by week. Alternatively, you can do them all at the end, now, if you prefer.
Thanks ! Do we still get 5k XP for completing the other weekly challenges, even after having completed 3/3 for Week 1 ?
Or does the XP lock itself after 3/3 (like for daily challenges) ?
I think this. I have the dailies +3/3 weeklies done and there’s no more XP to be had in that section (minus 5k for 30 games of Comp). Week 2 looks like it’ll unlock on Tuesday. As someone else mentioned, there are the seasonal and event-related XP (Runasapi ones, etc.).
Yeah, it’s a bit confusing… I’ll try to complete one more weekly tonight to be 100% we don’t get an extra 5k. Thanks for taking the time to answer.
You SHOULD get the 5k for the left over weeklies, just no more bonus for “Complete x weeklies”
Okayyyy I am confused. When thursday/patch hit, I had EVERY weekly done except for 45 games, but in this “new format” I have no credit towards the new system. No credit towards week 1…they really should have done a better job explaining this somewhere.
I have the same issue. I have 4 challenges completed but because they were done before reset I can’t get the 3 weekly challenges and 20k exp for the week. I’ve heard some people’s weekly challenges were reset. I’m not sure this really fixes the issue but I am willing to have mine reset if it gives me the chance to get the weekly exp. It’s a pretty big chunk to miss out on.
I realize blizzard has a lot they need to fix this season with the voicelines not working in the battlepass, moira not working on the new mode, etc. But I have not seen anything about this issue on the twitter or the known issues from blizzard. Some recognition that there’s an issue and that they are working on it would be appreciated.
I have gone and stuck with the following method.
I run 3 games in QP every day. That pretty much cinches the 3 needed for the dailies, and occasionally it will clear a weekly. But sometimes I can watch the weekly, if it gets close enough I can put in a couple more games to finish it out if I want.
But if you play at least 3 main games per day (and get the dailies every day), you will clear the battle pass in under 30 days. A bit faster if you do the premium pass. (20% XP boost)
Are you talking about completing the battlepass to 200 with all the prestige titles? People with this bug are potentially missing out on 20k experience which, depending on playtime restraints, could potentially cost a prestige rank.
No.
Mainly the first 80 tiers.
I doubt that many players give a crap about completing the full 200.
If it is a bug and not a design change, sure, they could potentially miss out on the extra rank XP.
But for the sake of simplicity, if players are just trying to complete the first 80 tiers that reward you with cosmetics and stuff, that should be doable with just the dailies and easily completed within 30 days, just by playing 3 games a day.
And FYI, if I had fully played 3 games per day for the entirety of last season I would have cleared 200 most likely. I had reached 162 last season, but didn’t play every day.
I’m at 2/3 weekly completed and all of my challenges are completed. So am I gonna miss out on this 20k do?
Are there more seasonal challenges coming? Because only one seasonal challenge is quite disappointing.
The new system is great. You aren’t forced to play every week now to take advantage of the weekly challenges and rewards. They stack. And if you don’t play for a full month, you’ll have four copies of every weekly challenge and the weekly milestones, so you can make it up now at the end of the season. The system is objectively better now.
The weekly milestones and challenges stack every new week if you haven’t completed them. So you don’t have to worry about almost finishing a milestone and have it reset the next week.
