Honestly she’s not even that bad, I’ve played almost every version of sombra so far and this feels like one of the most balanced iterations they’ve had of her
Her TTK is super quick if anyone overextends, she is way more effective in team fights, and her opportunist passive is actually crazy useful. She can’t influence the entirety of a game anymore like she used to, and she can’t flank nearly as much.
She’s kinda a lot like Zen now, you gotta be a team unit if you really want the most out of her
I agree. The only thing I don’t like so far is the Translocater time but again that’s on me still getting used to the additional 2 seconds but it’ll get better. It’s just relearning the gap.
Sombra’s win rate after the rework is sometimes below 30%. While the adjustment period is still ongoing, it’s definitely not going to give her an additional +20%.
Like so many other people, you’ve completely missed the point. the main issue is in your title. Sombra mains never asked for a “new sombra” not even for permanent invis. That’s the problem, that’s the point.
She wasn’t designed to be a super lethal, super offensive character sitting with her team all the time, that’s not how she started and is not what attracted people to play her so trying to bring up how she’s better at killing stuff means nothing because that was never the direction her mains wanted her to go, nor was it her initial identity.
This statement… My fellow human, Most of us don’t want her to be “like Zen”, we want SOMBRA to be like SOMBRA. That’s the point, not like Zen, not like Tracer, not like S76, like the character she initially was, the unique character and playstyles, like SOMBRA.
As a Sombra main since ow1, I fully support and d love the changes.
She’s in arguably her most balanced and powerful state right now purely because of her ability to absolutely obliterate tanks (most with a single clip without healer intervention).
Those tanks must not be using their abilities then, because hack is useles to stop them now with its nerf. Otherwise no, tanks can survive. Plus, what game are you playing that the tank is always alone?
Sombra’s value is not as easy to get as cass or S76, but it has infinitely more potential value
hacking a moira out of her ult, or a tracer/genji, hacking rein holding barrier in front of your team, still being able to shred almost every support in the game and being able to choose the space you initiate the 1v1 in
Congratulations. You hacked one of the most mid ults in the game.
You can’t get into a position to do that now without dying outside of bronze.
Not possible to get into the backline with her current kit unless the support is comically out of position or if you can see 5 seconds into the future.
maybe it’s because I’m still trying to get used to it, but I feel like I’m AFK or just out of the fight longer now than I ever have been. the loop feels really slow.
Maybe hack from above? Use the map to your advantage? They’ve made hack a lot more forgiving this update it pretty much sticks around corners
Then don’t go in the backline anymore? You can’t just farm supports in spawn anymore, you have to support and play with your team and she’s incredibly effective at doing that now
She’s supposed to be a support dps, was her identity from OW the day she released
Objectively, this is a fact given how much blizzard has balanced her solely around support
