With the new system for cc I found I was having an extremely easy time booping a Transing Zen off the map so I went into a custom game to test it and found that Zen goes a noticeable distance further when ulting if he gets booted then when he isn’t ulting. This may have already been in the game but it is way more noticeable now.
Interesting. Was this effect the same when Zen was stationary and moving? If so, perhaps it’s based on a heroes highest potential speed? I know boops already take momentum into account to a certain extent, but if a stationary transing Zen is booped further than another hero that seems like a pretty substantial bug.
Honestly I only check when he was stationary, but that would be interesting to look into
The stationary effect is more of a problem than the moving effect IMO. Since momentum is taken into account when booping, it seems to make sense that Zen would be booped farther when transing since he can zoom around so fast.
If he’s booped farther when stationary in transcendence than he is normally, that seems like a big bug that needs to be squashed.
Zenyatta does get increased movement speed when ulting. I imagine the effect would be the same on any character that is speed boosted?
It happens to D.va while shes boosting too. And I witnessed it happen to our poor Winston on Rialto yesterday.
I think it’s a bug that will hopefully get fixed soon
And I really hope they tone down the booping a but.
I honestly don’t know enough about the boop mechanics to say anything definitely but in the past when they have changed basic game things like this there have been substantial bugs so I wouldn’t be surprised if this was one. However if it is caused because of Zen’s increased movement speed shouldn’t this also effect invisible Sombra and Lucio on speed boost? (Haven’t tested those so maybe they are affected)
I have noticed in general any hero that is flying/jumping gets sent really far and high. Junkrat mines especially can now send you pretty much as high as if Junk himself was trying to boost himself up.
Over all the knock back changes seem very silly imo. So many hero’s have knock back now with the likes of Doomfist, Junk,Phara, Lucio, Wrecking ball etc that you just constantly fly around the map with no control.
So it sounds like boops use the base speed of the enemy rather than what’s actually occurring with their momentum at any given moment? If true, that’s fairly lazy. I’d have thought boops would be based on the booper’s momentum or just have a static boop distance.
I’m guessing it’s down to how his ult was coded. While Lucio and others gets the speed boost only when moving, during trans I’m guessing the speed for Zen is coded so it’s looping/rolling constantly applying even when he is idle.
