The most frustrating mechanic in Overwatch for you?

What is the most frustrating mechanic in Overwatch for you? I think mine would be Roadhog’s hook ability. The distance for me just seems unnaturally long and confusing. It can also be glitchy and doesn’t break in scenarios where it should. I’ve seen it glitch through floors if you have high ground etc.

Hanzo’s one shot kills. There is a reason he dominates deathmatch at high levels.

Should’ve been there for hook 1.0 that was wild

You either had hook pull you through time and space, or the hook would break on a stiff breeze.

Hook!

But it’s much better than dragging you after dying, somehow reaching into spawn, and pulling you across the map to die again.

Role Queue.

Pharah.

You just can’t really touch her unless you have decent aim. For other frustrating characters (doom, Sombra, mei) at least they’re on the ground and shootable (I mean doom can do some crazy stuff, but if you’re getting consistently killed by rollouts that’s on you)

Rein and Orisa 's Shields. The free value that water downs the game.

Barriers. They aren’t terrible as a concept but I wish they’d just turn them off for a month, forcing the devs to figure out how to balance the game without barriers.

headshots… cuz head hitbox never matches head model

The queue times. All they ever did was make me read books and become a weeb. Thanks, Overwatch!

It’s definitely pharah being able to fly infinitely and hardcounter half the cast with no input or skill differential required. Add in a mercy and you’re in hell aka forced to swap no matter how good you are

The way projectiles being handled after the shooters death or being stunned. All the disappeared Pulse Bombs and Blizzards

  1. Rez - it undo all of your work with a single button
  2. Lamp - puts you on a side quest while the enemies gets free kills on you
  3. Mei’s freeze - not only is a guaranteed death but wastes your time too

the ability to have duplicates in mystery heroes…it can be VERY game breaking

did you mean abilities specifically?

in that case…moira orb…not cause its like overtly OP or anything…just cause its annoying to have to endure damage just because someone looked in your general direction (technically doesnt even need to have done that as it bounces around on its own)

Damage boosts

For playing it, I find Bastion’s conversion to sentry too finicky. There seems to be a tiny pause after hitting shift before he moves in or out of it, and I sometimes hit it again, so he goes through both animations. He should have an option like Lucio, where I have to hold down shift to stay in sentry, and he pops out when I let go of the key.

Hacks. It’s super annoying to be playing a tank and then lose access to 80% of my hero’s power, and also likely die since I HEAVILY rely on defensive abilities to survive.

One-shot, insta-kill abilities. I’m talking Widowmaker, Roadhog hook, Doomfist’s entire kit; dying without any chance of retaliation is absolutely horrid to experience. What’s the point of strong teamplay and coordination when everything can come crashing down because of a lucky Hanzo arrow?

If you had to say a gameplay mechanic… probably “channeled abilities”. They are so slow and countered by so many things in the game. Yet they don’t really seem to have an advantage over truly transformed abilities.

Just seems wrong that Whole hog and so many other things can be stopped by nearly anything in the game from stun, sleep, hack etc. While fully transformed hero’s might be stopped for a second or two they get right back up after the effect is over.

But if your talking feature in general I’d probably say the F1 screen. Seriously the hero ability screen is beyond useless with nothing but a single line of vague information to tell a player what something does. It is by far the worst status screen I have ever seen, even ones in foreign languages I couldn’t read from an imported game was more useful.
