Why do I constantly get people who are not even trying on my team? Sometimes I just say screw it and just start throwing alongside them at least it’s free XP
Games wide matchmaking creates steam rolls. Instead of looking for similar skill as it states, it just looks for a match.
Which is why it has a huge chance of plastering 70% of the good players to 1 side and the newer ish or not so good players on the other.
It then rotates these newer - not so good players through the other higher levels. And this is because the match maker doesn’t have a big enough pool of people, no matter how hard they try to claim otherwise. Which is why que times have done nothing but increase.
If they keep ignoring the dumb match maker, that will kill the game faster than another company.
Developer hat on……how would you account for that if you were making the mm?
Agreed, Match maker is awful.
People play this game with the idea in mind that the team they will be facing will be of similar construct and abilities (as well as skill level). When they are getting face-rolled (since leaving is no longer an option now). They quickly become demoralized, give up and that is it for them.
Blizzard has the two things going in their favor of the argument and that is what players want.
- Fastest Q times.
- Closest latency players.
The rest is subjective to whom is online at the time you press Q, like everyone else.
