Now the teams will take their $114 million severence and the Overwatch League will be disbanded. There were good times, and there were bad times. The age of esports is largely behind us.

Almost certain, like 99.99% sure
Like all teams need to agree to keep going, but the league isn’t profitable so they rather take blizzards 6mil offer and destroy the league.

Although the vote still needs to happen, it is assumed that the League will be disbanded.

That said, I would be very shocked if some kind of T1 esports scene doesn’t end up happening, even if it’s via third party. APEX had something good before Kotick decided to spawn the OWL and it’s Call of Duty League.

Yes, but outside of Toronto, I don’t know how many of the others would vote to continue the League. Especially if Kotick isn’t unceremoniously removed from the Head Honcho office by the time they hold said vote.

I will say, if anyone is looking for another esport to get into, the ALGS (Apex Legends) is fantastic.

owl had some epic moments but a game without players can’t have esport league. ow is not gonna recover from what devs did to this game back in 2018.
