Knock-backs are not only good because they can knock enemies off the map. Most knock-backs do some damage in addition to knocking an enemy away from a teammate to create space, knocking an enemy off the high ground, or knocking the enemy off the objective. Knock-backs very often have extremely low cool-downs as well.
There are so many maps, particularly control maps, where you can easily get knocked off the map when you are on the capture point (where you are supposed to be fighting). Many alternate routes your team can take are extremely risky because you can all get knocked off.
yeah it wouldnt be so bad if there wasnt some speedy frog that runs along walls at high speeds healing all the while with a gun that has an aoe blast that does 25 dmg every few seconds doesnt cost ammo and sends people like 10m away.
Someone getting knocked off the map is typically 85% of the time not their fault. Like on Lijang (however you spell it), when you walk down the stairs to the point, there is a huge pit to your right or left. It basically makes you have to try to take a certain path every time so you don’t get knocked off. Just doesn’t seem like good map design as it severely limits what parts of the map players can use if they don’t want to be one-shot easily by falling to their death.
Why should anyone EVER take a flank route in their life that can easily result in your whole team getting booped off the map? Also, as I stated in the OP, you are supposed to be fighting on the capture point, so there is no avoiding getting knocked off.

Disagree strongly. If you’re getting knocked off by ANYTHING but primal rage, it’s because you played stupid, you know what they have and how they’re going to want to use it. Luckily no map whatsoever has no path that is safe from being knocked into the abyss, so if you get envirod, you deserve it.

Not what I said or meant… I meant even the maps WITH enviro spots, you never have to go any certain way that makes you easily enviro-able. Only teams that screw up get envirod.
Mate, this game isn’t Checkers, you’re oversimplifying this way too much. There are so many valuables that you can perform which can prevent you from being knocked off ledges, everything from Reinhardt simply putting his barrier up as he’s crossing the ledge on Lijiang Tower Garden, to focus firing the Pharah, to picking a flanker and distracting the backline, or just outright sleeping Wrecking Ball with Ana.
Don’t blame the wall if you repetitively keep running into it. Just go around!
Illios well, don’t come out the door from the mini hp building, and don’t stand directly next to the well, and you’re SAFE 100% of the time.
Lijiang Tower, don’t take bridge if you know they are looking for boops, and instead take the other side. SAFE.
And for Night market, don’t take the sides of the point unless your hero can easily come back from a boop, that’s a flank route, for flankers. If you are not a flanker, YOU DON’T BELONG THERE and are straight up STUPID if you decide to take that path knowing they have boops for you.
Bam, short list of easy to apply things, and you will NEVER GET BOOPED AGAIN (given you aren’t being gotten with the original part of the games blind picking when you don’t know who their team consists of as it’s not immediately visible)
Just don’t be dumb, and don’t stick yourself in dumb spots, and you will never have a problem with boops and edges.
I can be standing in the very corner of the point against the pillar and still get knocked off by Pharah or Wrecking Ball because of their immense knock-backs.
I have been knocked off before & have seen many people get knocked off when they go right because there are 2 open areas before you get onto point, and so you can easily get knocked off to the right or left.
Have you tried reacting quickly to press the opposite directions movement key? It shortens the boop by at least 50%. Had you done this, these knockbacks are not powerful enough to do what you just described.
Right so I’m level 3000+ right… so I have never ever ever ever ever ever been knocked off going the opposite way to bridge. No one in the history of ever has booped me off going that way. Doesn’t matter if they are open to the edge, you shouldn’t be able to get knocked off if you don’t play like a complete donkey.
