I’ve always wondered how I’ll get killed through walls, and then I watch and realize that on the KILL CAM I wasn’t behind the wall when I got killed. And I’ve assumed on my end that this was always lag.
Well, someone on my team just woke up a target who killed me, and I wanted to watch the KILL CAM to see who it was that woke them up, so I could yell at them. In the KILL CAM it shows the person who killed me, killing me, and then getting hit by my sleep dart as I die. In reality that person was laying on the ground for 2 seconds before they got woke up and killed me instantly (it was a Junkrat at point-blank range).
It just makes me wonder how accurate POTGs actually are when I see stuff like this.

Overwatch lag compensation be like favor the person with most ping, nothing can be done about that.

Well the camera placement itself is worth wondering about…
you can try this out yourself (you’ll need another account or friend or perhaps can see after on replay)…if you’re Orisa throw a shield down and stand directly behind it…then using the other viewpoint check out how far back you are…
When you see it this way it almost makes it seem like the camera (your viewpoint) is actually set at the tip of the gun…it’s crazy when you consider hiding behind a wall and even though you think you are, the enemy can probably still see your entire body
I have the kill cam off so I can see what’s happening around where I died before I spawn.

Its so much fun with widow. Why widow you ask?
Because while your whole Viewport is completely filled up with wall, you cant see the enemy at all, the enemy widow can already see like 40% of your head. Your HEAD. not your body. Your HEAD.

One, how could the Junkrat have been laying on the ground for 2 seconds if you had a Sleep Dart ready to use ?

Couldnt read that without getting confused, but i have noticed there are issues with sigmas rock hitting me behind a corner, like hook 1.0. Anyone else noticed?
Well you should expect someone to accidentally wake someone back up again if they are already fighting the person, they didn’t do it on purpose.
The amount of times I’m been fighting someone as Moira and our Ana has slept someone I’ve just thrown a damage orb at, then she complains at me, well… that isn’t my fault.
Killcams use snapshot of your clients data so there’s a lot of prediction and extrapolation.
For “accurate” kill cam record a highlight or watch a replay, that way you obtain data entirely from server side.

If it is from the point of the person who killed you, obviously you won’t be behind a wall on their screen. if you hit something on your screen, it count as a hit (LMB and RMB to be exact) even if it is not yet sent to the other player.
Also ana’s dart is a projectile with travel time. That is completely normal.
