i love wanting to playing brig then HAVING to change to Kirko or Moria only to heal bot (my healing does nothing) and still get absolutely wiped because the other team as a pocketed Mauga.
Just any tips would be appreciated because Mauga is absolutely the worse to vs against as a support.
I find it to be if there’s a Mauga on my team I’m always having to swap. I hate it.
Like Lifeweaver actually works tremendously well with Mauga, but if my Mauga is just bad and is soaking dmg then what’s the point. Also just having another support who isn’t a main healer makes it even worse. But primarily the reason being that the Mauga can’t position and play well, as I’ve won with him and Zen, Mercy,Lucio.
Playing against Mauga I’ll see how LW goes at first, as he is literally the only support able to pull teammates out of cage fight. But if my team isn’t doing well against him then I will swap to Zen for the discord orb, that usually helps. However if he STILL doesn’t die to your team not being able to kill him then I usually go Ana/Moira/Bap for the big healing and dmg (not really Moira for dmg tho).
If that doesn’t work then I just say GG in my head and swap back to LW and try focusing on working on my 1v1’s and ability counters/petal positions.
Ana is still the best support against Mauga. When he pops cardiac overdrive, hit him with the nade so he gets no healing. Or hit him with the sleep dart to leave him vulnerable. If your team isn’t complete idiots, it’s an easy kill.
I’ve had some success with Lifeweaver as well. Mauga’s head hit box is huge, so the thorn spray does crazy damage even at extreme ranges. And you can use grip and petal platform to get allies out of his cage fight.
I think he’s manageable on supp; I would say Ana is your best bet. Like Hog, he’s a giant meat tank, which means he can eat nades and sleeps like it’s an all you can eat at Red Lobster. You can negate his self-heal and pockets with nade, and sleep before he gets away so your team can lay out the damage.
You can also combo that with a Zen, though honestly, those two together ruin any tank’s day.
Ana and zen are your best friends when a mauga is being annoying.
