As if Hanzo would ever get his dragon nerfed to a point that didn’t require a transcendence to block it on Grav?
The only reason it didn’t matter before was because Hanzo was a horrible troll pick. And Dive could kill stuff 5 times over by the time you could charge one GravDragon.
Again, if the team uses two ults and one ability why shouldn’t they get a wipe? I remember a dev talking about how “disheartening” it is to not get your rightful kills, so why should Zen with one easy press of Q counter such a well planned strategy that involved three people?
After all, the other team only needs a grenade to still survive.
The glorious irony is that this “bug fix” that changed something that was definitely not a bug actually ended up creating something that definitely is a bug.
Honestly, the nerf was completely necessary, and I have no idea why Blizzard is even trying to play this off as a ‘bug fix,’ other than their dev team just being pathological liars when it comes to Mercy.
That still doesn’t justify that inconsistent nerf. That combo was in the game since the beginning and was also used since then. There is no real reason to nerf it, only that it points at a very clear picture again. The rework it self.
It’s even easier for Zen than it ever was for Mercy - at least she had to avoid being pulled in Zen actually wants to be pulled in for maximum effect.
Not saying I want Transcendence changed or anything, but I find there is a bit of hypocrisy surrounding the discussion about it and other support ults.
Mercy can only dmg boost supports and tanks, dps get a -30% debuff
Ana can’t sleep mechs or robots, instead her cd goes on a double cd
Anytime Orisa uses the puppy emote everyone within a 5 meter radius are stunned as long as the emote is active (it basically works like this now anyway)
Hanzo gets limited arrows and has to pick them up again to continue shooting
When D.VA blows up she doesn’t get a new one until she dies
Make the nerf exclusive to Hanzo then. Why go out and say it is a bug and start nerfing her DmgB even more (no longer can boost D’Va ult either). if it’s a problem with Hanzo, make the nerf exclusive to Hanzo.
Then I guess Hanzo’s arrow shouldn’t be deflected/matrixed either? And I’m not sure what the difference is between Pulse Bomb and Dragon Strike - both are “thrown away” and only do damage after a short “cast-time”.
Removing counterplay isn’t really the right way to go in my opinion.
Note that I couldn’t care much about this with regards to Mercy (it’s not like the combo is common at my tier anyway) but I care for consistency and for not creating problems in the future.
That is true, although in fairness with Hammond’s mines you can clear them pretty easily and Self Destruct can be shielded (which Blizzard can’t).
Symmetra turrets are consistent as they have health, it’s always been like that (and Torb’s turret).
I still think the best solution would have been to either 1) make Hanzo less of a dominant pick or 2) finally bring Ana back up to the tiers she belongs so she could have provided the last piece needed to counter the ults.
