So, be prepared for Mercy posts 24/7 for the next few weeks gang. The devs have kicked the hornet’s nest… moth’s nest?.. and this will be the only topic of conversation for awhile.
For those of you new around here, Mercy mains are the single largest community of players in Overwatch. When they are upset, the forums are that “here there be dragons” place on the map. And if they decide to leave en masse, be prepared for terrible queue times. There’s a lot more of them than you think.
Because once Streamers and the buffed heroes set in. That’s going to be the new flavor of the month to nerf this.
Because you were already good with Widow, that McCree range buff makes life easier for you if you don’t get to pick her.
I still have to see what the final map pool is this season around.
But it takes pros and content creators less than a day to figure out just pick these 5-6 heroes every friggin start of competitive and now ow 2 season.
It takes 3 days to a week to trickle down to Ow.
The nerfed to the shadow lands heroes coughSombracough are forgotten about.
It’s the meta that is always complained about here and pretty much everywhere. And in a limited map pool that complaint grows fast because it gets old quick.
It will last at least that long. Do you remember when they nerfed the moth meta? And she was actually OP back then. And still… But seriously, if they actually leave they are a large percentage of support players, so it won’t be good.
The mercy mains don’t actually care about anything but that. They severely neutered the one part of her kit that made her fun, and de-synergized it from the rest of her kit. It was a poorly thought out decision.
IMO the one part of her kit they should have left alone is her movement. It’s the most fun part of playing her. They could have done almost anything else and people would get over it. But I don’t see the Mercy mains going quietly into the night with this change.
“In headlines tonight, thousands of Mercy mains converged outside of Blizzard studios in Irvine California. Riots, mobs and angry “MERCY 3:16” posters waving in the air. Coffee shops and local venues are boarding up their windows and are actively preparing for a night of angry mobs and attacks”. Now back to you Tom".
