The hacker problem in Season 10

EDIT: Since making this post I’ve only been seeing hackers on Twitch highlights. Haven’t seen any since the start of the season.

EDIT #2: So again I haven’t seen anyone hacking since the start of season 10. We can put this conversation to a close now :T

Since Season 10 has started there has been a flood of hackers plaguing competitive matches. Do you think it’s just me? Take a look at YouTubers and streamers that have been dealing with the same thing, clearly the amount of hackers/cheaters has become so overwhelming that it is getting hard to tell between a skillful shot and some one using an aimbot.

On three accounts at three different elos I have encountered a hacker at some point since the start of season 10. I even have video evidence of these players CLEARLY using aimbot in all of the matches that I encountered them in.

How do you know they’re hacking?
When I watch the kill cam their camera snaps directly center to my player model and perfectly tracks me no matter how fast I’m moving.

You said evidence?
I can’t provide it here because of the forums rules but go ahead and search up hackers in Overwatch on YouTube.

My question to Blizzard
What are you going to do about people who are boosting their friends with these cheats?

Op sees a hacker in everyone who has better aim than him. Inform yourself about warden and other cheat detecting tools. Blizz doing much to keep this game hacker free

There was a nice thread by S23 that went into some detail.

The general consensus reached was that people in denial of the hacks were either using them or making them. They were trying to discredit the issue.

As this didn’t work, the denial posters eventually spammed the thread with links to YouTube of hacks in games. Witch hunt posts.

this got the thread deleted

So maybe that is the answer you are seeking Enratic?

LUL or ppl which just got AIM

You can’t naturally snap 50 degrees to a player and perfectly track them. There is a clear difference in moving your mouse to a player and actually snapping directly at the player. There was no movement to my player model in the video, it was just a direct snap to my player model. Good aim and aim hacks can be blatant when the cheater snaps directly to you and your teammates.

The fact that people deny that there are cheaters in this game are insane. My only problem with it really is that the hackers are usually boosting some one so you’ve got people climbing in ranks that don’t belong in that rank which will end up making that player who was boosted ruin future games because they don’t require the skill that is needed at the higher elo they are playing at. It is a string of frustration that needs to stop.

They use GuardIT as well.

This may be true, but a lot of people accuse people of being hackers that aren’t. I’ve been accused once or twice in chat (and really I’m not very good lol) and the friend I duo queue a lot with who plays Hanzo is getting accused in almost every match we win now.

provide proof or quit whinning.

Proof = thread being deleted.

So thanks to forum rules we can’t educate you on what cheats look like.

Fancy new hacks probably just came out. Give it time and we’ll see another banwave.

You know it’s Overwatch when people blatantly see hackers and others just tell you to ‘just stop being bad’ and ‘stop blaming others, you’re the problem’.

Hm…
Maybe it’s because Overwatch genuinely has the best anti-cheat ever made, and none come close to it’s effectiveness.

They are doing an amazing job at banishing hackers imo, seriously fast at responding to those kinds of reports because I never encounter the few I’ve reported again. But be cautious don’t be too swift to accuse someone, the flick aim is getting popular and with OWL and all the pros/twitch streamers people get inspired to get better too. I myself have been accused several times in comp and quick play of hacking. “This McCree is toggling I ain’t playing against this scrub” leaves game and I’ve also had my fair share of “omagurd you’re the worst McCree ever, get off dps” … O.o

or its because I’ve played since release and have maybe come across 2 obvious hackers…

I get the feeling that people that complain that “OMG THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS, HACKERS EVERYWHERE” are exaggerated and likely immature kids with no critical thought.

Yea last time I provided proof of a Mei hard griefing and slandering everyone because he thought it was funny got me a 24 hour forum ban because your not supposed to point out players.

yep aimbotting bastions are back again and they use low fps setings to cover their cheating to not detected by blizzard antihacking system

I’m pretty sure your dps doesn’t hide your hacks. If you have 30 FPS and I have 100 FPS. In the death cam I still see 100 FPS.

they try hiding but kill cam shows how dirty their cheats are, it just so hilarius watch that thing

i really hope ban wave coming soon

They definitely exist, but they’re not near as prevalent as a lot of people make them out to be. There was just recently a pretty effective ban wave that hit both pixel and mem cheats which is good, but that also means there may not be another for a good amount of time.

From what I hear things are getting pretty difficult for pixel bots, and mem cheats (that aren’t detected) continue to be very exclusive and expensive due to how effective the AC in this game is.
