Speaking of one shots being not fun to play against, blizzard is once again ignoring the fact that OW2 is a f2p game which can easily cause loads of hackers to infiltrate the game…
I find that approximately once every two games I face the best Hanzo / Widow in the world, who keeps pre-aiming and tracking through walls and snaps onto my head whenever I flank them… Those dudes don’t even try to hide the face that they are cheating… 5 headshots in a row, 5 kills…
It’s so obvious, yet blizzard does little to nothing to stop it…
OW2 being f2p gives those hackers the chance to make a new free account every time they get banned, no consequences.
Wish Blizzard will have a look at those characters, as well as the cheating problem, they are the dream of any cheater.
I haven’t noticed any super obvious cheating players in comp matches, but whenever I play DM before a match there seems to be a lot of suspicious hanzo players with lvl 1 endorsement hidden profile some going 60-12 etc.
That’s a good point, I try my best not to look at other players profile, but every once in a while when I check it, it usually is level 1 endorsement…I’ll be honest, just had 3 games, 3 different people, 3 hackers who one tap the entire team straight to the head… I had a match be terminated due to an obvious hacker, next game guess who was once again on the enemy team…
I should mention, I play all three roles, diamond through bronze, every single elo has them… its insane!
A hanzo landing headshots back to back? The only times I ever saw that was when I watched my bronze friend going against a smurf. Even the number 1 Hanzo “arrge” doesn’t consistently land headshots back to back every single game. So it depends, are you anywhere below diamond? If so then thats just something you are gonna have to learn to outplay.
Hidden profiles don’t really mean that they’re hacking though, nor does the low endorsement.
I used to endorse in Ow1, it was right up on the screen at the end of the game with the cards. Now you have to tab and read through peoples stats if you wish to endorse correctly, so I don’t even bother.
I couldn’t care less if anyone endorsed me, it just gives a little bit of xp that is useless to me.
I can’t Widow to save my life, the only time I play her is in Mystery Heroes, and I run and gun like a Soldier 76 with her. “12 shots, 1 kill” would be my Widow voiceline lol
Hanzo on the other hand I’m pretty decent at. I’ve played him a lot (in the dps category) and am pretty good at leading my shots. I’ve had people on the enemy team call me a hacker before, and tbh it’s a compliment!
I know that there are hackers out there but I don’t think there’s as many as people make it out to be,
yes the 1 shot can be annoying obviously, but to say that there are that many cheaters, roughly 50% of the time (once every two games) seems like an exaggeration. Some people only play Hanzo or Widow and they get really good with them and are able to do some incredible moves, some of which may look suspicious but are simply the effect of years of practice (and also luck in some cases!).
I understand both of your replies, and I do agree about what you said regarding low endorsement not being an indicator of a hacker.
Just for context, I play on diamond to master MMR usually when I play my main role (support), up there I rarely get any hackers.
The problem begins when I off role, tank for example where I am currently gold MMR.
I believe that blizzard does have a system to detect and ban hackers, but especially now, when Blizzard was banned in China, many of the Chinese hackers are using VPNs to hack across all different servers, it feels like we just have to wait for the next wave of bans and anti-cheat update…
Believe me when I tell you this - I am well aware of how the characters work, I was top 500 on seasons 1,2 in OW1, but nowadays on PC lower end MMR its a nightmare to play.
Those guys are not even worried about hiding the fact they cheat, you can see them shoot through walls because they don’t understand that you’re standing behind it…
The insane tracking behind walls without vision (no arrow or widow ult used), and the 100% accuracy to head shots is just ridiculous…
Hope this clarifies my complaint regarding the hackers they do get banned on higher MMR, but Blizzard does not ban them fast enough so they won’t get into competitive playlist… and this must be fixed…
It really sucks that Overwatch went free to play. Before, you’d buy the game and if someone hacked and was caught and hopefully got banned, they’d then have to go and shell out more money to buy the game again. But now, if they hack and get banned, they could just use their parents cell number and make a brand new account and do it all over again.
I never really understood cheating in a multiplayer game, like, you’re not actually doing anything when you instantly kill someone, a program is doing all the work.
I kind of wish that Blizz would have made a hackers lobby, where instead of them just being flat out banned from the game they would instead (unbeknownst to them) be put into games with other hackers. Then they could enjoy having other cheaters kill them instantly, and they wouldn’t realize that was happening to them for a while at least and realize how frustrating it is. It would be like one of the 7 circles of Hell so to speak lol.
A ban is just too simple, give them a taste of their own medicine, they’ll just be back eventually, at least make them suffer for a while.
Feel free to review this Genji and Hanzo who played against me last game… Genji was certainly using a script and walls, he was tracking us through walls… played pixel perfect : 5R7MJX
