The Gibraltar Redux is Excellent

Just wanted to give credit where credit is due. This was an excellent redux of Gibraltar, addressing most, if not all, of the problematic areas of the map.

Spawns have alternate exits.
Alternate routes added for long sightlines.
More cover at key points.
More entrances to second point area.
Better high ground access.
Final defender spawn relocated.

Hoping a few more reworks like this are in the works. Would like to see Havana and Junkertown get a solid look. Numbani too.

NGL. I was playing Gibraltar this morning and I was like “Oh my god, I never noticed that the spawn at the very end is in that narrow passage!” I was shocked that I had missed it.

Turns out, I’m still a dumb***, but about map updates rather than map knowledge.

Considering how little content this season has, I’m really surprised they didn’t mention this a bit more. You’re not the first person I heard that was surprised by the changes. Got a game on Gibraltar last night. The cries of confusion and surprise were frequent, though mostly pleasant.

i did notice they changed some stuff on maps. on gibralter i was like what the hell are those stairs on the end of first choke point. i thought i was tripping

Huh. I was backfill after the first point, so didn’t even see that change. I think I’ll load the new map up in a custom game to see what’s changed.

Agreed. It’s a significant improvement.

Now if only they’d fix Circuit/Havana/Junkertown/New Queen Street/Busan/Rialto/Blizzard World/Numbani/Good Lord when I think about it so many maps need sightline reworks I could just keep going.

Well, sounding like the Gibraltar redux has been well received. Hopefully they’ll take that positive feedback and start taking a serious look at some of those maps.

We can hope

Yeah, you just take the bridge after the fight won, and they can’t come out of spawn anymore.
